I pull 9000+# no problem but I don’t have near the tongue weight you have and use a weight distribution hitch and excellent electric brakes fine tuned to perfection. My trailer also runs on e rated radials.

thank you TJ, I have been reading about this for a few months and one recurring theme is people with EXP recommend going full tractor because of cost, ability, versatility. in the 60K+ plus it seems that getting my class A back and having GF get hers so we can team drive seems like it might be the best option even though I don't want to drive a full size tractor again.
Perhaps a 7 car hauler and this tractor would get me...$1.25 a mile? https://www.commercialtrucktrader.com/listing/2015-Peterbilt-579--5001331013
p.s I am aware the bigger the truck the more it cost to maintain.

OP I wont hijack your post anymore :)

Toyota advertises the Tundra as being able to tow a space shuttle, so a travel trailer shouldn't be a problem, right?

I can only hope he doesn’t visit Colorado. The god damn roads are parking lots as it is without someone going 38.2 mph over the passes.

1625 lbs pin weight, plus hitch, and then load it up, and the occupants.

    Good God.

Yup, keep that rig out of my back yard too.

Power to weight ratio is the least of my concerns seeing that though.

Not really towing a shuttle, more like pulling it. No extra weight on the hitch or the bed. Dead pull.

I think the air coming off the front of that semi got that trailer squirrely. The driver was going too fast as well.

I don't like threads like this. Just because the engine will pull it doesn't mean you should do it. I see so many instances if people being overloaded out on the roads.

This last weekend I took a trip up to Colorado and saw one in particular that was extra dicey. Chevy 1/2 ton loaded full of dirt and pulling a utility trailer full of dirt. Rear bumper was dang near dragging the ground. He was squirrelly as heck. I was thankful to be able to pass him quickly.

A good example of a full floating rear axle here. Look how it keeps the ass end of this thing up. :spy: :cookiemonster:
