Super Charger Noise

    Super Charger LED head lights and tail lights
    Hi everyone I am a new member. I have a 2015 Tundra TRD pro with the SC. I love the truck. I came from an F-150 FX4, which was a nice truck, but the Tundra rides much better it is quieter on the road. Plus I don't see another one every 5 minutes.

    My super charger makes noise at idle and I have been told that it is normal by other SC owners and by a Toyota service rep. I also talked with Magnuson and they said some noise at idle is normal. But, it still drives me crazy, I can't help to think there is something wrong. Does anyone else have this noise? Also, any thoughts on engine and trans life with the SC? Thanks. I plan on keeping the truck for a long time and I may just take the SC off.

    The noise sounds like a water pump going bad or a bad bearing.

    Your supercharger coupler is loose. How many miles on the supercharger? You can get aftermarket couplers that is supposed to be made of a better material. I went with the magnuson coupler which comes with the o-rings for the throttle body and snout. Depending on your skill set, removing the supercharger to replace the coupler as well as the oil is the easiest way. Others have changed the coupler by just removing the snout, that involves removing the front coolant crossover pipe. This doesn't help with the oil change as the drain and fill are in the back next to the firewall.

    Good luck, i had a b!tch of a time removing the rearmost passenger side 'intake manifold' bolt
