I want to make my tundra sound deeper and get better performance out of it... I think I narrowed it down to the FLOWMASTER 50 SERIES based on comments on here.... however... I can't decide on doing a dual in dual out or a dual-in single out... my brain is about to explode!!!

I use my truck to tow and I would love to get slightly better mileage with a deep tone put of the truck...

do I do a single or a double out?!?!?!

I had a flowmaster 50 series on an explorer, never really liked it.

if i didn't go with the trd exhaust, i would go with dirtydeeds. They can make an exhaust sound like whatever you want (i wouldn't bank on too much of an increase in mpg though)

I just bought a 2018 and my previous 2 Tundra’s had the TRD dual exhaust. Was gonna go the dirty deeds route but decided to stick with the Trd Dual, goes on Friday. Like the sound and the look.

Well since nobody will help answer your question, I will. I went dual in/dual out because my muffler i got doesn't come in a single out. I have the dual tips dumped over the rear end. Maybe someone will chime in and actually be of some help haha

Is the TRD muffler anything like the FlowMaster 50 or Magnalow 22”?
There was a guy locally that adversitied a TRD muffler for sale, but it’s the same model # as mine - which is just a double cab 5.7 TRD Model.

The TRD everyone refers to is aftermarket TRD correct? There is no difference between the TRD packaged Tundra and a SR5 model?

Sorry - didn’t mean to hijack!

Someone who says TRD exhaust means what they say, a TRD exhaust but that said it only comes stock on the TRD PRO tundra. The TRD off-road or sport do not come from the factory with TRD dual exhaust, they have the same as all tundra except the PRO

Talk to Keith @dirtydeeds, he'll set you up with something worth installing. It'll add power instead of robbing power, and you won't get the horrible drone. It's at least worth the discussion.
My 6" bolt on BAMuffler will be here tomorrow. I'm excited.

I had two sets of dual out and now that I went back to single out with BA I noticed the torque loss with duals

    He's right you know.
Pretty much every aftermarket exhaust, especially duals have shown to actually decrease low end power.
All that I've read about anyway, except dirtydeeds BAMufflers

Both duals I had were way to loud and to much drone when towing trailer that's first reason why I switched to maganaflow but didn't change also I wanted deeper and louder tone....i have heard that dirty deeds makes a 10 inch that's good when towing but I would call him very nice dude

I’ve listened to a bunch of dirty deeds sound clips and I think most of them are 6” which seems pretty aggressive, 8” sounds better imo. Does anyone have any 10” video clips?

    @Fiestee23
I believe your best options are either to contact Keith @dirtydeeds and discuss his custom options (he has more knowledge about the Tundra exhaust than anyone I know) or install the Toyota Pro dual exhaust.
The Toyota dual exhaust is stock on my truck and drone is not a problem. Sound is nice.

I think I saw the "TRD" exhaust you're talking about (Portland Craigslist?), and it's just a regular stock exhaust that came off a truck with the TRD package, not the TRD Dual.

I was going to contact the guy, but I checked underneath my truck and my muffler was stamped the same.

@dirtydeeds all the way. I had them install the 10 Inch BAMufller and it sounds really good. Quiet when you want it to be and ferocious when you gun it. Very low drone noise. You gotta get one girl.

@dirtydeeds, that's one hell of a drive!!! You were about 3 hours from me in Myrtle Beach.

As for the exhaust, I have the 50 series, dual in dual out on my truck. I figured the single out probably performed slightly better as Toyota designed in that way, but I like the look of having duals out behind each tire. The 50 series has a mild sporty/aggressive sound, different tone that the 40 series and Keith's louder system with the budgets or the 6". I will say he was a very helpful guy when I was looking at exhaust but in the end I chose to go with the flowmaster because of price, and I'm happy with the sound. If you can spend roughly $1k on his system, I would probably do that and call it a day.

I may have noticed a SLIGHTTTT decrease in torque or power, but not enough for me to question my decision or be disappointed with my decision. Maybe if I towed a lot with my truck it would have been more noticeable.
