2014 tundra with 2018 grille

Is there anyone with a 2014-2016 Tundra with a 2018 platinum/sport grille installed? I saw one of the threads saying that it is possible to throw that grille on the 2014-2017 models if you buy an additional two pieces with it. So i was wondering if anyone has done this o hasa picture of this already installed on the tundra so i could see how it looks. Thanks!

 

Several people have done this, and you can find a few. I found one in the silver sky thread. I also did these renderings in MS Paint to see what it would look like.

I am probably going to get a platinum grill and bulge, but then put my limited insert into the platinum surround.

@Roman can better answer for sure, but I'm pretty sure the '18 will fit on any 3rd Gen. The only extra parts you should need are a bracket and an emblem.

The 2018 grilles will indeed fit the 2014-2017 models without any modification. Just order the Land Cruiser emblem (75301-60020) to go with it. The only other part you might add would be 53113-0C010 it's the small plastic plate to cover this opening Either way you won't see it with the hood closed

@thomasbus337 would you know if this one would fit it? https://goo.gl/iHrw7j I couldn't find measurements on the 2018 emblem. The Amazon page for this one shows 7.1 x 3.6 x 1.5 inches.

 

I'm not sure if that one will fit or not. I have 75301-60020 on my grille. Snapped into the new grille perfectly and have been riding around with it ever since and no problems. I think i was around $45. Not too bad.

 

Hope this helps. I just swapped out the chrome grill on my 2015 for the 2018 grill and bulge. The emblem that Roman recommends came chrome so I just threw some plastidip on it

 

Thank you @TssDriver21 I ordered the part from Cool Springs.. It will end up being $49 after shipping.. Not too bad (but crazy considering its just a plastic emblem heheeee)

 

An update on this if anyone is going to put the 75301-60020 on a 2018 limited grille. The emblem does fit nicely, with one little exception - the back of the emblem has a 1/4" plastic skirt and the bezel on the grille (at least the limited) has two little tabs that are used for some screws on the back side. The skirt on the emblem hits the two little tabs and keep the emblem from pushing in far enough on the bottom to click in..

Its a super simple fix, I simply marked where the skirt hits the tabs, and with a dremel, carved out about 1" of the skirt to avoid the tabs. Its on the back and is not part of the visible area of the emblem.. It allowed the emblem to click all the way in nicely.. The last thing to do is to put two screws into the tabs from the back side to ensure the bezel is attached securely.

 

I put mine in color matched! Regular 480 at the dealer got mine for 280!

Yeah bro mine did. Mine had squeezable taps you pinch and wala off it came.

 

Sweet. Thanks for the quick reply. I like that I can get the 2018 with the silver sky surround instead of a TRD grill that I’d have to get painted. I like the waffle(?) grill a bit better than the 2017 TRD too, which prob means the 2019 TRD grills are going to be crazy popular and hard to find.

 

Yeah I bet those 2019 grills are gonn be crazy looking! Hopefully. I heard that the body style and interior isn’t gonna change till 2021

 

ehhh I'm not crazy about the new grille. Looks like a teen with braces.
