so we just bought our first tundra 3 weeks ago a certified 2016 platinum 6 inch rough country lift the dealership had installed for the previous owner that was said to have been inspected prior to our purchase
Now tonight my wife has me drive (it’s her rig) to dinner and says it’s super touchy steering I agree when we get to the restaurant I scope out the tires and the inside tread is as smooth as a baby’s ass!
If there is parts worn out in the front end will they fix it under warranty? What about the tires that are junk now it was dark but the front skins look tapered clear across will they replace them why the hell didn’t they catch the problem in the 160 point inspection they bragged about 1000 times? I’m hot to say the least!

I think you're about to find out if your dealer is a good one or not. I'd be choked too, but keep cool and calm, and give them a chance to make it right. Correcting the alignment issue and it's cause such as worn or loose parts, as well as replacing the front tires would be a reasonable expectation.

It sounds like you have some seriously excessive toe-out or camber, but to wear like that in three weeks I'm thinking toe-out.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I would think you may be able to get the dealership to do something for you being it’s a pre owned certified. But, they may also point to the lift as the reason.
    Did you test drive it?

Yeah I figure that’s what’s going to happen
I did take it for a test drive had a slight pull to the left I stoped at a gas station checked tire pressure and it was low so I matched it up with the rest of the tires 38psi i believe it was and drove it for another half hour and it seemed fine
I see in the Carfax report they just rotated the tires wonder if the did a alignment at the same time and screwed it up

I hope you get some satisfaction. If the dealer doesn’t step up hopefully it’s an inexpensive fix. Good luck

If the dealer certified it like that, they really need to stand behind it 3 weeks later, lifted on not.

I just had a similar situation except i am the original owner. Took mine in and they rechecked the torques on lift, and steering. Corrected the alignment and will monitor it when(if) I go back in for service. I would guess what they do depends on mileage and the difference in tread depth from inner to outer. Mine was only 2mm. Also check those pressures mine were really low for what they should have been. If they are real bad they should replace but it may be pro rated. Not sure how that would work with you buying it used...certified or not. Good luck.

Update they had it for a week to send it to a third party to put to front tires and an alignment on it they said it was 1.5 inches out of toe on both sides (claim it’s our fault for hitting a pothole) get it back and a day and a half later it’s clunking in the front when you hit a bump and shakes so we took it to have it looked at by someone else and found the jamb nuts were not tightened after the alignment and it’s back out as well as one of the wheels having a crazy amount of weights on it now the car lot has to decide what they are going to do I want to take it back to them and start over make them go thru the 160 point inspection again and do it right found numerous other things that should have been caught during the inspection

    That’s horrible.

Are the two pictures of the weights the same wheel, like it appears?

Damn! Hope you get this dialed in. I bought a Tacoma once pre owned certified and the rack and pinion was shot. It was literally dripping g from the boots. I think their 160 point inspection is worthless.

Lol I agree when I asked them why it wasn’t caught during the inspection I was told “well ya know we don’t measure anything we just look at it and if ints not obviously broke we check it off the list” so to me it’s just a piece of toilet paper used to charge you more
We have opened a case with Toyota and they seem to be behind us so have to see what happens

We took the truck to another Toyota dealer to have them look it over and they told us it should have never been certified do to missing parts and damage being caused by the way the lift kit was installed
Took this info back to the dealer we bought it from and were not treated very nicely after being accused of mud running the truck hitting a pothole and loosening the jamb nuts myself with a wrench we had had enough told them they had two options buy the truck back from us and pay for the insepection we had done or we would let our attorney know we want to move forward with consumer fraud charges do to the certification being fausly completed either by lack of knowledge of lift kits of on purpose to raise the price of truck they made a quick 180 started being super nice and agreed right away to buy the truck back!

    What a shit experience.
Hope you at least enjoyed the truck enough to get back into a toyota. But that is enough to completely turn a guy off a brand wow.

    Good luck

Looks good  for a white Tundra. :D :crapstorm:

Seriously though, I hope your experience with this one is as much of a contrast as the color difference.

Nice looking tundra, now when you going to have it painted a fast color, like MGM??? I figured only white was left over since nobody really wants a white truck.:):):):):):):)
