I just bought my first tundra yesterday. 2018, cement, with tss package. I wanted grey cloth but the deal was too good to pass on, I bought it with black cloth. I live in Texas and am wondering how hot the cab or cloth seats get with the black cloth interior. Anyone have feedback on this?

I have black neoprene seat covers which I think is worse. with tinted windows and front window shade you should be fine. Leather . . . that's a different story.
You can always get lighter color seat covers if they get to hot for you.

I live in FL and have black cloth. No issues with heat or being too hot (either seats or cab). Side/back windows are tinted and I typically also get the front windshield tinted on my trucks, just haven’t gotten around to it yet on my new one. That makes a huge difference in overall cab temp.

Cool. Thanks for the replies. I’m very excited about this truck. I’m sure it’ll wear off soon though.

The use of a sun shade in windshield can really help cab from heating up.

Tint your fronts to match the back (slightly darker to account for the light entering the windshield). And sun shade when parked.

No question, black is the worst color choice for summer. Basic physics. A friend once bought a black car, with black vinyl interior, a glass sunroof and NO AIR CONDITIONING. Would give you a second-degree burn sitting on the seats.

Insanity. He sold it not even a year after buying it. We all asked him, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?"

Cement paint probably better than Black too, should keep cab a tad cooler.

Also remote start is really nice in summer, with Air on cooling a few minutes before you get in.

I have the black interior on my blazing blue truck. Seats dont really get that hot even in the dead of summer in socal... but i do have crystalline 40% all around and use a covercraft sun shade in the summer. I thought about getting katskinz for the looks/ease of cleaning but do NOT want to deal with seared skin in the summer.

I suggest getting ceramic tunt all the way around on the windows. I wish I would’ve done my front as well. You can get it practically clear. It helps tremendously. And welcome!

Not bad at all. I’ve got a black Tundra with black interior and black cloth. The seat temp is fine. The cab itself gets hot as hell. A windshield shade helps. I also lower the back window a little for the first few minutes driving and everything cools off pretty quick.

The dealer did tint the windows, but I feel like they could be slightly darker. I can’t remember what % he said. Maybe 35%? I honestly have no clue. Anyway, thanks again to all. You guys are a very friendly bunch here. I haven’t been much of a car/truck guy my first 40 years of life but I do like this thing and plan on a few minor changes/upgrades to it.

Standard tint just doesn’t compare to ceramic. If you’re going to replace it look into it.

I have black cloth, live in Texas and it hasn’t been an issue. The type of material used on the seats doesn’t seem to absorb and hold the heat like other cars I’ve owned.

I do not think you would notice a lot of difference between the black and the grey. I have grey on mine and from what I recall it is only the center of the seat that is grey. I added leather Clazzios the first month I had it so I have already forgot what it looked like. If you don't like it and it is a 4x4 I will trade you. That is after I remove my seat covers, grille, led lights, and retro headlights.

Welcome from Arizona. As others have said, the tint, sun shade and leaving a window (or sunroof if you have one) cracked will make a huge difference. Wife's car has a sunroof and leaving it cracked lets the hot air out the top. My seats are dark grey cloth and I don't think that it makes much difference heat wise over the wife's beige interior.

I had a gen 2 with black cloth for 10 years before my current 1794, and even with ceramic/heat rejection tint on this new one the cloth seats were better off after a day in the sun. I do use a sun shade all the time.

I have a 2017 Tundra CM with black cloth and have had zero problems with it! I am in San Antonio Texas and that’s why I bought the White exterior because at 100 degrees you can put your palm on the body and not get burnt, stays cool to touch!

Good tint, and AC I’ve been great, I like the black because it seems cleaner looking!

Again zero issues for me, enjoy
