Has anyone else had a problem with the TRD Pro suspension? When pulling into my driveway the other day I noticed a creak when the front wheel hits the curb/gutter right before my driveway starts. It is at low speed and now I am noticing it on normal slow speed turns on the roadway.
I have 10,500 miles on my truck and haven’t had a single problem to date.

Haven’t noticed anything like that. Did you look for anything that’s off the baseline??

It's more than likely the front skid plate on your pro. Guys have put a rubber washer between the mounting/screw tabs and the truck to alleviate it I believe. I hope that's it anyway....

I don’t see anything off. Truck drives normal. Maybe it has always done it and I just happened to start noticing it. I can’t hear the creak if the windows are up.

Nah, I have 14k and never have heard anything like you are describing. I’m more than sure someone with a little more knowledge will chime in.

Like Newm said. It's the skid plate. I had the same problem and first noticed it while turning into the driveway on certain movements. Then I started hearing it more and more. closing thing would be two pans banging together. I crawled under and tried tightening the skid plate and it really didn't help. I just took it into the dealer saturday and they said the plate was installed wrong. They reinstalled and she is quiet again.

Thanks guys! I was hoping that was the problem. When I take it to the dealer I’ll let you know what the result is.

Had similar occasional creaking. I took off the skid, looked where the plate rubbed the frame. Then cleaned and applied neversieze to all contact areas. Re-torqued, and has been silent since... about 2500 miles.

How hard is it to take the plate off? I don't have torq wrench to tighten to spec. Mine started today, made it 11,000 miles before it started.

Mine started a few week ago as well, 14,000 miles. I did some heavy towing and off roading in the last 6,000 or so miles so I figured I loosened something up.
Doing my oil change this weekend and will pull the skid to see if that's it. Mine is more of a popping, and it did it to me today when I hopped in the truck. Engine wasn't even running. Just putting my fat ass in the seat caused it.

You have to go slow and loosen 1-2 turns each bolt until they release. There are locking washers on the ends of the bolts that need to remain on(they hold the spacer tubes), and if you spin one bolt all the way out, these will come off and make your 15 min project much longer. The rear bolts have tapered shims and nuts on top, so you'll need to put a wrench on the top to get that off. Once off, clean everything, take your time and it's easy. And any Home Depot should have a torque wrench in the tool corral. BUY ONE. I don't know the torque specs off hand, but I think they were around 25#. Maybe someone here has the exact numbers.

Mine more of a pop to, happens under uneven terrain. Was off roading last month. So much fun to drive fast off road with this suspension.
Where are the LCA cam bolts located?

Want to make sure I tighten the right bolts. Lower control arm bolts right?

My last Pro had a similar sound early on. The sound was traced back to a defective driver’s side shock that was covered under warrantee.

Mine was making the noise also. Found out there was a service bulletin from Toyota on the skid plate rubbing. Fixed for free.
