looks good. Usual maintenance. Didn't see anything bad.
Also check the cam towers for maybe oil leaks.

I agree 100%... try and buy used from the original owner, and always ask the seller "why are you selling it" & "has it been a good truck for you".

I only have so much time and can do so much. Only 1 private owner has gotten back to me out of 6 when trying to set an appointment for the test drive, and the one I got a hold of didn’t have his truck registered and I wasn’t risking that. Plus my mechanic that inspects the vehicles is a 8-5 M-F and private owners are usually evenings or weekends so dealerships it is for what I can do. Plus the hassle of private owners who don’t own the vehicle in the first place.

True, that's the bad thing about buying from a private party, especially on Craigslist (flakes, shady people, crap heaps, etc). When you do find that "diamond in the rough", though, it feels much much better when you actually buy it. I understand being in a time crunch, however.

Would you guys get an extended warranty on a 2008 Tundra 5.7 with 130,000 miles? It’s for 5 years or 100,000 miles or does the reliability of the Toyota not need that?

Not a Bad Idea but many variables: Cost? Deductibles? Actual coverage?

Make sure you understand it. Ask a 3rd party mechanic / shop their opinion of E.W. offered.

What gas is recommended for these 5.7 engines?

87...My Sam's club only has 85 and 91. I get gas at Maverick. I use Maverick Clear87..no ethanol. $2.60 per gallon with Maverick Nitro. discount..

So the manual says this (image attached). So do I go with the 91 at Costco then and stay away down 85 at Costco or do I need to find a 87 somewhere else?

That smoke is probably a cam tower leak. Definitely have it checked out.

91 is not going to hurt anything, just cost you more. I would try to avoid the 85. Guessing you could blend the 91 and 85 yourself and be OK, may be more hassle than its worth.
