hey guys I just picked up a 2010 Tundra with a stock Supercharged 5.7 and it’s all stock except the previous owner installed some aggressive tires that are really loud and handle poorly on the roads. I’m not looking to to go low profile because I would like to keep the height but I need something that looks great and sticks well and handles the 500+hp. I’m not looking to go off road at all and I will put these back on for the Winter if I decide to use it during those months. Any suggestions would be great. Pic below is the current tire.A2729C85-DB5F-4232-8138-F91C5FA783B6.jpg

For a truck, my Toyo A/T tires handled great on road and looked good too until the tread wore down. The current M/T tires handles pavement like crap comparatively.

Hey Mark, welcome to the forum! I unfortunately don’t have any actual use case experience to share.....yet. I know a lot of members talk highly of the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. From everything I’ve read on here, they provide the aggressive look but still wear well and aren’t much louder than stock tires.

I actually just purchased a set of Nitto RG’s myself and will be installing them on Saturday.
    C0083EE6-19F6-459A-BEB2-07A15572C5BF.jpg

Not sure your timeline but I’d be happy to follow up once I’ve had a chance to drive with them on the truck.

In the meantime, I’m sure someone who has driving experience with the Nittos or a similar tire will chime in.

I’m pretty fond of my Ridge Grapplers. Haven’t gotten off-road with em yet, but am very happy with how they perform on pavement. Only a lil louder than the BFG all terrains I had on before.

The tires are 295/70R18. The level kit is the ToyTec 3/1 level kit (increased to the 1.5” block for the rear). Wheels are 18” Methods with +18 offset.

Whole setup is supposed to be getting installed this weekend so I’ll have some pics in a few days.

Sorry for the questions but did you go with the ToyTec Boss, Ultimate, or Eibach? Also are you going to run stock or aftermarket UCAs?

All told, I’ve got just over $2,000 in the whole setup.

This is the level kit I chose. I don’t do any towing and have no plans to offroad, so this is the one David at ToyTec recommended for my needs. I’m also planning on keeping the stock UCAs for now.

If you want street tires I'd suggest Michelin defender ltx ms. I love mine and they will handle that power just fine.

Everything on it was installed by the Toyota dealership. The original guy who owned it spent all the money and then died.

I would go with the Michelins for street use. I think only drawback with Michelins is I have heard they are a long wearing tire which normally means a harder compound. Long wearing is a good thing but harder compounds tend to have less traction. Saying that I have no experience with their AT type tires. Cooper ST Maxx would be my choice in an AT if off roading. I had them on my Taco and will probably put them on Tundra when BFGs need replacing. I need a tough off road tire and would go with MTs if not for road manners.

Well it looks like the best way to go is to go up in size of the rim to possibly an 18. Any thoughts on that? I do like black rims I just hate using non TRD parts. And the Toyo tires do well in reviews.

Nitto RG’s here, didn’t notice any noise increase from the stock Bridgestones. The RG tread pattern is designed to be quieter. Great on pavement and snow (I guess until the siping layer is worn). 295/70R18 on 18+ offset. I’m very pleased with them.
