“Backing up a muddy hillside in 4wd. Truck won’t go anywhere. Engine won’t rev past 2500 rpm.”

“Ah ha! Turn traction control off!”

“Still can’t get engine rpm up or break tires loose”

What’s the story here folks? Does my truck need a prescription for little blue pills?

Did you try holding it one more time? Three seconds. Second generation is a little different procedure but you’ve got one more stage to go to get all nannies off you still have the simulated LSD on.

I did not try 4lo. Nor did mashing the traction button yield any different result, 3 seconds, 6 seconds, no difference. I must be missing something. I probably have to be doing 88 mph at 10:04pm on nov. 12th...

By “R” do you mean reverse? If so, yes. Also neutral. And park. By all accounts the nannies should have been disabled.

Next time I’m pullling the ABS fuse.

ok for real... did you have traction when you put it in 4hi(was the 4hi light blinking or solid)? Not sure about 2nd gen but 3rd won't engage 4wd if you don't have traction. no idea on the engine rpm thing.

It was in 4wd when I got stuck. There was some wheel slippage, but it wasn’t much. The truck felt electronically limited. Frustrating because I wanted the wheels to spin to clean the mud from the tires and slide me across the hill.
