I've only had my kit for a month or so and the ride is great but it's already starting to rust on the top of the coil over shock. The rear shocks are fine. Is this being noticed by anyone else with the Boss kit / Is it normal for something this new?image.jpg

Normal. You live in Seattle. "Rust Never Sleeps". I know. I lived south of Eugene, OR for 14 years. Trucks become rust buckets eventually no matter what you do in the Pac Northwest, unless garaged with climate control or cleaned weekly top to bottom/underneath. Surface rust in high humidity climes can take place in hours. Literally. Leave a non stainless steel knife outside for a couple of days anywhere in the Pac Northwest in winter/spring and see what happens.........Even worse on the coast. "Salt Air". Surface rust is not a big deal. Spray on PB Blaster occasionally if you are really worried about it.

That part of the shock is machined after zinc plating, so it is bare metal that will rust..same as a stock shock.

Yep just surface rust. You could treat it like Matt said and then spray it with something that will seal it up like rustoleum.

Fluid film is another product that works well for preventing rust.
