I am looking at getting my grill painted and wonder if it is safe to drive around with it off?

Thanks! Makes me feel better about getting it painted then. I was worried about not being able to drive my truck for a few days.

It’s fine, unless you take a rock or bird strike. :D

Hum! Don’t think I will take a bird strike here in San Antonio, but might get a rock. Will have to hope and pray that I don’t!

It doesn’t take much. I pulled a very expensive radiator yesterday due to a rock strike. Owner is not happy. Happened in a corner and is not repairable. 875.00 later....

    Damn Jeeps.

Wouldn't the paint shop be able to match the paint better if they had the truck? My white TRD pro grille that I added is a slightly different shade of white.

I torqued it down. Actually, I have to re-torque everything for safety as a result of lighting fast speed.

Biggest problem with running around with the grill off is you are likely to be invited to drink coors beer by guys driving fords and rams and probably some MGM Tundra guys.

If I was going color matched, then yes, but I’m not. I’m going black or maybe carbon fiber, having the grill hydro dipped.

One of the first things I do when buying a new truck is the behind the grill, metal screen MOD. Very easy to do. Helps protect from rocks and anything that could fly into your radiator. Don't have any pictures at this time but,I know others on here have done it.

Looking forward to seeing it when done. Have a Coors Banquet Beer too. Brewed right here in Golden with clear Rocky Mountain water.
