Will a Gen2 DC topper fit a Gen3 DC?

I don’t think so. The tailgate is thicker so I think the back may not line up properly.

I sold toppers for 12 years but new to the group , what year is gen 2 and gen 3 ??

 

2nd...2007-2013
3rd...2014 to present

 

Depends on the topper then. If it covers the bed caps then no it won’t fit correctly - if it sits on top you might but if my memory serves me there is also a height difference. The inside of the bed did not change though if that helps.

 

I was gonna get @DecalsByDesign to wrap it white but if it won’t fit I’m not gonna do it

Won’t fit unfortunately, I found one for like $400 on Craigslist a while back and found myself in the same predicament.

 

Thanks buddy! I saw that one but I want to pay half that. The one I showed earlier was gonna total me less than after the vinyl covering up the gray. I’m probably gonna just keep the RTT and leave my setup as is. I really don’t want to get rid of it, I was just thinking the wetter climate I’m headed to a topper might be more suitable

 

And it’s a 2nd gen anyway

@Mootball used to sell toppers and says the one I showed would not. He wanted $500 and it was the caddy of Snugtops. I figured it was worth a shot. I’m still thinking about getting one, but if I’m paying $1200 then I’d pay a little money for a new one and get them to install some supports for a smaller RTT down the road. I bought the 3 person RTT with anticipation of doing some trips with the kids.......well that didn’t go exactly as planned. I’m thinking going smaller and lighter would be good but I’m not going to sell myself short to do so

 

Any topper company, Leer, are, snug top and many more out there are all gonna be different from 2ng gen to 3rd gen.
