FS: 2018 Tundra LED Headlights Plug N Play wire Harness for 2014-2017 models

Mine have a wire going into the cab for dimming module install under dash

 

Love those pictures of my truck at driveway while I was working on it to install retrofit heads

 

That’s what the wire is for? How do I dim them once in the cab? I don’t think my 2015 stock headlights have a dimming feature?

 

That is possible with the relay installed under dash, this feature not present in SR5 trucks but the relay does the trick

 

If I do the gray wire cut to remove the amber DRL, is there anyway I can get it back after cutting?

 

Not necessarily have to cut that wire you can depin it just for a moment if not like it just insert the pin back to its original place

Shit! I’m at the Depin gray wire part - so you pop the white cap up, then what? Just stick a screwdriver in there and it pops out?
I don’t know if my hands are big or what but this is a serious pain in the ass!!

I am now Fing up the plug! Wtf!?!??

 

As you can see there are two hole types one square and other kind of T, the thumbtack must be inserted in the T type holes

 

This white plastic clip is kind of spring action locking the terminal in place

 

What white clip? The one on top that I popped open on top?
I am inserting the pin-tack into the T part.

 

What’s the worse case scenario here - just cut the gray wire and electrical tape to your relay black wire?

 

Look the big lock you release with a screw driver lock them all together in the connector, but also each terminal have its own locking clip see in pictures

 

Ohhhhh - the white clip inside the plug where I’m inserting the tack?
Oh I think I must’ve broke that.
I didn’t understand there was a white clip in there. I thought it was like my old RC car battery plugs where the wire had a metal clip that you press down on.

I was putting pressure on the tack in the wrong direction.
Lovely.

I see the cavity a little busted but still can see the white clip

 

I can’t get it.

 

Try pushing the wire towards to you to loose the plastic clip and then insert the thumbtack all the way in and try pushing thumbtack down and pull wire out

The last option is clipping the wire but don’t cut the wire too close to the connector, leave a little bit of wire for the future if you ever need to splice or solder that wire if going back to stock headlights

 

I can’t get the damn thing.

 

I pushed gray wire back in with pliers even.

 

Ok then just clip the wire from connector, cut the male terminal in the black wire from my relay and use butt connector use the smallest gauge possible maybe the red ones

Or the best option if available you can solder wires together

 

That wire is a PITA for some guys, maybe the worst part of the install depinning is intended for a good reason to avoid permanently damaging that wire (clipping wire is the easiest way but for a price)

I had the same issue with that gray wire. I know that frustration all too well haha
