I went to the dealership to test drive this car. I asked them to give me a otd price. He quoted me 45,900. What do you guys think about that price? Can i do better?

    X2 for truecar.com.
Costco. Got a great price and zero hassle.

Idk about that specifically but you get a range basically of the deals people are paying for their car.
You choose to negotiate based on that and start at the low end and see what sticks.
That’s if you are willing to negotiate. If you are afraid of confrontation and don’t like to negotiate do a program like Costco and that’ll be one of your best bets.

I just bought this same truck earlier this week, minus the trd dual exhaust and skid plate. I really want to add the dual exhaust after I do a bed liner and power side steps.
I paid 42,777 so your price is pretty close but maybe just a little high but not crazy. The dual exhaust is not common on the trd sport.

Do you have multiple toyota dealers in your area? You can use their online prices against each other. I have 4 toyota dealerships within 30 minutes of my house, did all my research online and went to the one with best price that weekend.

I found true car to be very annoying especially once they started having local dealers email and call me.
I like cars. com but what worked best for me is going to each local Toyota dealerships website and comparing prices that way. You always want to see the window sticker because not all of the online descriptions are accurate to the features. The window stickers give you accurate info especially with the added package options

Yes i have a few dealerships around me. I been doing most my research online and been using truecars and carguru. Only went to 1 dealership to test drive. I know toyota is doing a rebate that ends tomorrow. Do any of you guys know they will do more rebate programs later in the year? The otd price he gave me i did not negotiate anything yet. So i might try to get it down another grand or so.

They always seem to have rebates. Literally went to the dealer in November and December and they had rebates. Went back February had rebates. Now it’s april and they have rebates.

I had a negative experience with the Costco service. Same dealership type runaround. Complained to Costco and no action.

Not sure what the service was supposed to offer but it didn't work for me.

There seem to always be deals - especially around the end of the month/quarter/year and holidays. I would also expect to see more deals from Toyota the close you get to the 2019's being available (but by then you may not be able to find the exact truck you are looking for).

Sorry to hear this - was the complete opposite for me. Costco had the dealer contact me and I found the exact truck that I was looking for on their lot and asked for a quote on that specific VIN. This is when the the Tundra's were leaving as fast as they came in and the internet sales guy put the car aside for me until I could come in.

I sure wouldn't pay any more than $4-5K off that sticker. That would take some work and the willingness to walk during negotiations though.

However, there are some that might pay that much without batting an eye. The dealer is looking for that mark.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
Another thought is that you can save on some of the “factory upgrades” and go with a regular CM, then add your own mods and build the truck like you want.
Great thing about this site is there’s is more than enough info on parts and building your own unique ride... ultimately having something better and cheaper than what you get from the dealer.

That said, if you’re going to leave everything as is, I’d negotiate a bit. I’ve never seen offers 1-3 (at least) being the “best offer”.

    Good luck!

At worst you should be paying invoice minus rebates. I think invoice is around 43K on that truck. So you should be able to do 43,000-1,250 = $41,750 + TTL. Holdback is about 2% also.

So at worst offer $41,750 + TTL. Don't pay anything more.
