After only 3 months and 2600 miles my ‘18 MGM CM gets taken out by a freakin’ turkey. :frusty:

This big tom walked out of the weeds right in front of me so I got on the brakes hard and started to ease over to the left but then he decided to run which put him back in front of me. Right before I hit him he flew up and his body punched through the grill and into the left side of the radiator, deforming it and knocking it off it’s mount. In spite of the damage, the radiator didnt leak and the fan still had enough room to spin in the shroud so I was able to drive it back to the dealership.

He managed to hit perfectly in the middle of the grill and didnt damage any of the chrome pieces but he did bend the upper radiator support cracking the paint on it. Beacause of this it went from an R&R of parts to having to go to a collision shop to have that piece cut out and a new one welded in and repainted. So much for my truck holding it’s value.

On a positive note, I was pulling an empty equipment trailer weighing 2600#’s (which is why I didn’t swerve harder) and the brake controller worked great.

Hopefully, I’ll have it back from the shop in about a week.

Not for me. His final insult was to get up and hobble off into the woods dragging a wing. I’m hoping a coyote tore him to pieces, not that I’m bitter about it or anything.
