No theft thankfully. I don't keep anything of value in the truck but do have a toolset in there. Whoever did it just smashed the window and left. Didn't even try to open the door.

Some vandals busted mine out a while back, I opened the door and took all the glass off with gloves and then just took the shop vac and got all the glass inside and around door panel! When they replace the glass, they will get all the pieces left in door panel!

Also make sure you vac the seats real good because there are a lot of very thin glass pieces hard to see that can cut you!

    Good luck!

Thanks. This I basically the same thing I did. I pulled the rest of the widow out before I even left work. I'm glad to hear that they will get the rest of the glass out of the door panel. It would bug the hell out of me to rustle to all that glass rattle around forever.

In my opinion, Safelite uses cheaper glass. I've had them replace windshields before and then went to a local auto glass company. They seemed to have a better product and prime around the windshield so no rust develops, which is very important. I will never use Safelite again, but they have good marketing and are convenient though.

I would get a quote form Safelite, a local glass company and also see how much OEM glass would be if you don't mind doing it yourself as I don;t think the back window would be too much trouble.

FWIW. I used Safelite a couple of times in the past. The most recent one was for replacing my Tundra's windshield a couple of month ago. They came to the house and took care of it. They do great work and the glass they use is comparable to OEM in my opinion.

Well Safelite is replacing it as I type this. I can't fit my truck in my garage and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. It was the quickest most convenient option. I hope they do a good job...
