After being hit twice in the same spot in 2 months, I think I need to replace the flimsy front bumper of my truck. Looking for experiences of those whom have put their bumpers to the test. I'm avoiding Iron Cross as I've seen how those fail to hold up in an accident. I'm tired of losing my truck to the body shop for a week each time this happens...

I don't know the odds of it happening in the same exact spot... I'll look into the suggestions, I'm hoping to make sure if/when it happens again, they'll be the one worrying.

Yeah, video sure makes it easy to make a case.

Yeah, but I'm in California... I'd probably get prison time for shooting a Nerf dart at him.

If you drove in the traffic around the San Francisco Bay Area... not so impulsive. Some people are getting pretty Mad Max around here.

Longer list than the wife needs to know about....
I'm guessing early in the vid he was riding your ass and you were trying to give him room or you were swerving right to prevent him from passing on the shoulder?
Asshat for sure. Hopefully they are able to prosecute with the dash footage.

I have a go-rhino not sure it would have held up much better the ICI was my 2nd choice

4K recording makes it a lot easier to pick out plates with limited time. Smartphone playback makes it easier to show the officer.

He was trying to crash merge by coming up the shoulder and I didn’t want him to sideswipe me in the process. Looks like I was getting hit one way or the other...

He pushed his speed up past 85 mph on the shoulder and I have a toddler at home so I’m letting the cops get him. As tempting as getting my pound of flesh from him would be.

So if you showed that to an officer, what did he say? What did your insurance company say about that video?

Re: The camera, yes, zoomed in I could see the plate clear as day. Insurance called it "cut and dry" and "blatantly obvious." Waiting on the response from CHP... The camera has been invaluable in making my case to insurance and ensured that I've never been deemed at fault after 8 collisions in 5 years.

PS: Did I mention Bay Area traffic sucks? :bananadead:

About to hardwire it, as I just recently upgraded from a cheaper one that was turning on 3-7 min into my drive. Only setting it up to record while I drive as where I park tend to be safe spaces or already video monitored.

How do you like the rear camera, I was checking Amazon, $450 seems steep but sounds interesting for a system!

No worries, I didn’t think you were ripping on it. I just really hate traffic around here and really wish I could do something about all the a$$holes on the road.
I don’t have the rear cam, gotta figure out how to fit it in a Can-Back shell, when they get it to me that is...
