Anyone run Switzerland Trail lately? Playing a round of Disc Golf at 10 then planning on heading up that way. Haven't really done too much exploring around there and Gross Reservoir. Any suggestions would be appreciated

nice @BaileyJ. great to see you getting out and enjoying the local stuff. btw, i would recommend not camping back there. at least not solo. that area all the way up through west magnolia has gotten pretty sketchy over the past few years. have you picked up the fun treks books yet?

Good to know. Any reason for the sketchiness? I'm planning on camping solo a lot less or just not at all.

I haven't picked it up yet but I've been reading John Fielder's Best of Colorado :)

west mag is probably slightly worse than sections of switzerland. i will no longer ride my bike on the trails there. it's also really easy for the homeless/drifter crowd to get up there. nederland is on the boulder public transit route.

i've seen a few things along switzerland and i know of a handful of stories from friends of friends that have been jumped in the middle of the night. i've never run into an issue while just exploring in the truck. when it warms up a little more there will be a lot more people, good and bad, up there. just keep your eyes open.

fun treks covers just about everything. he's pretty conservative on the trail ratings. you can head over to trail damage and make a comparison. they've got pretty up to date reports on current conditions too.
