    @Paula B

The "issue" that I am having now is being able to determine for certain whether or not my truck has already met the criteria for being a lemon under VA lemon laws. As of now, the PCS issue that I have been having appears to be fixed and Toyota is willing to compensate me with a month's car payment and $350 store credit for the inconvenience. Unless I definitely knew my truck is a lemon then I think that going through the whole refund/replacement process would be even more of an inconvenience than this has been so far. Too bad that this safety recall doesnt have much weight on the decision if the truck is a lemon. I have to take it up to dealership a week from today to get this fixed. Hate this damn dealership now!

I guess I haven't had as many issues with mine as you to want a refund/lemon law it but I will say I'm also unhappy with my Toyota dealership as well. This is the 2nd tundra I've bought over last 11 yrs and I will say Toyota isn't what it used to be in comparison to the American companies ... (although as of now I'm still happy with my decision).
Thanks for sharing this info thread I'm going to continue to monitor - I hope the sw update fixes my issues.
Btw I read the writeup not much info basically they say a stability system problem impacts other systems and that the software update fixes it.
Ironically the recall letter that I received claimed that Toyota was adding the ability to support being able to use the brakes to stop the vehicle from moving even if pressing the accelerator (which is total b.s. the brakes could always do this I'm sure, and nothing in the software update I got from the dealership mentioned anything like this basically they didn't want the letter to state that the safety system TSS could have been impacted - which is exactly what happened with my tundra).
As I said above a little disappointed in Toyota but overall still happy with my truck.

I’m on my third visit to the dealership to for them to figure out why my PCS light turns off randomly... leaving it with them next week for several days.

I hope they have this figured out by now. I pick mine up next week and the closest dealer to me is almost 2 hours away from where I live. I hope that the reason it’s taken so long to get is because they were correcting the issues.

Glad I found you folks. The dash went berserk on mine with around 1000 miles. Driving along a long straight highway with a moderate headwind. I don't remember exactly all of the error codes that flashed up (sensory overload on my part), but the brake warning was the most concerning. Took it to the dealership who responded similarly to those of yours - not happening when I got there and no codes.
It hasn't happened since, but there's an annoying "buzz" under the dash between 1900 and 2200 rpm. Dealer was unable to find the problem after 2 attempts so I contacted corporate. Very courteous and responsive. That afternoon I had a call from the dealer who said there have been other reports and it appears to be an "ECM" under the dash. New part ordered and will be installed this Wednesday the 21st.
This is my 3rd Tundra and the first that I've had ANY problems with. I'm sure they'll fix it and I'll buy another Tundra when it's time for this one to be traded.
    Thanks for the great conversation!!

    Hi Everyone,
I posted here about a month or so ago. I too experienced an issue with my pcs light always on. finally took it back two days ago again and they did 2nd software update which was part of national recall from February 21st I believe and replaced front emblem and camera? I thought it was just one piece but adviser stated it was two. They also did recalibration again. I have only had it a day and so far no more issues. prior to this last visit the light would come on and go off intermittently, when originally it just stayed on all the time. we will see what happens.
i have a 2018 tundra crewmax 1794 edition purchased in december.

Yes my pcs was turning off as well for unknown reasons...so far the safety system has been working since the software update but I'm going to pay closer attention for a while to make sure

Got a notice in the mail today about that software update. Will make sure it's done when the ECM is replaced. Then hopefully no more issues.

I have an appointment this Friday for getting the repair done for the safety recall that was announced last month. Upon reading the documentation I received in the mail regarding the issue that is being recalled, I noticed that it stated that the malfunctioning of the Pre- Collision system also appears to have some part in this recall. That being said, since I have already previously taken the truck in at least 3 times ( dealership has documentation for only 3 times yet I brought it in 7 times) for issues with the PCS, I wonder if this recall would count as a additional documented repair for the PCS? Wouldn’t hurt to talk to lawyer about this matter before Friday but I am having difficulty finding a lemon law attorney in Virginia Beach area.

Spitfire, sure won't tell you what to do. I keep up with all recalls and notifications on my vehicles - this is my 3rd Tundra. No guarantees that if they get to messin' with a pickup that's working ok that it won't be screwed up when they're done!!

I live TEXAS my truck is been at the dealer 5 times because of the PCS and I call Toyota Corp.

The dealer tell me finally got the problem but the emblem sensor will be in Texas in about one month because I’m in a backup order.

Under the Lemon Law my truck is Lemon.

I have open a case with Toyota but I really want my money back or different truck.

    What can I do?

My truck spent its 4 day at the dealer today for the PCS light issue. They told me they called Toyota Tech services, who had them adjust the sensor 1mm. I’m highly doubtful that this will resolve the issue. This is starting to get old...

    @PNW_Husky

They will keep jerking you around and inconveniencing you as they “ troubleshoot”. Find out what your state’s lemon law guidelines are for how many attempted repairs for same issue and then I would call corporate. Gets real old fast. Neither Toyota or the dealership could care less about customer satisfaction or rentition. Took them 8 visits to do a repair that seems to have finally fixed the PCS issue but I am back up here at dealership waiting for them to repair the safety recall. Had an appointment and repair was supposed to take approximately an hour and we are now going on hour two. I have had truck for 2 1/2 months, only has 981 miles on it, and this is the 9th time that I have had it in service department. Hate this damn truck

As mentioned previously, my truck went in last Thursday. they did the software update -2nd one - and replaced emblem and camera. i thought it was just one piece, but paper work states two separate items. Anyways, the problem seems to be gone. I read somewhere a few months ago someone mentioned about possible moisture issues occurring inside of emblem and I believe they thought some sort of a heater to dissipate it was involved? I mentioned this to service adviser back then and he brought it up to me a few weeks ago again. stating there might be an issue with that. Now who knows. I think more will come out about this soon enough. I also wonder if taking truck through the brush-less car washes has anything to do with it. being it is so high pressured hitting that area. just my 2cents

PCS issue also since 300 miles, randomly off with light on dash.
I went to the main page on dash and it still says on? So I turned PCS off and back on, did not do anything (PCS off light still illuminated). I did notice that the sensitivity adjustment will not respond/ can't change when dash PCS light is on. When the PCS light goes away randomly I can adjust the 3 levels of sensitivity.

I did just have the NEW software update installed 3/21 and still have the PCS issue. Dealer wants to look at it again, but I would like to know what solved the problem for others. Replace emblem sensor 88210-0C010 or what. I have had no other issues I am aware of other than random PCS light coming and going.

    Hey Nap,
I wrote an email to owner of dealership because I felt I was being treated like crap. I stated that I had purchased and or leased 11 vehicles in the last 12 years from them and was not happy at all. I received a call about an hour later from general maager and then from adviser. Brought truck in, they had a tacoma for me to use. The light wasn't even on at the time, but they did software, replaced emblem and recalibrated. i am only hoping this is not a temporary fix. last time they did recalibration only and it lasted about a week

The light was off when I left dealer, it is always off when initially starting. The light comes and goes randomly when driving.
Was hoping software update would fix it, but it did not.

I spent over 51k on this truck. Unacceptable that they are having this issue. I take blame as well as I should of investigated prior to purchase. It seems that these current issues really have only recently started to come up though. December 2017? I purchased my truck just prior to Xmas. I do not like it spending anytime at dealer.
Good luck to everyone with this issue. I hope it gets resolved soon for you and hoping mine is a thing of the past.

Well, today they called to tell me that the truck was ready and that they had realigned and recalibrated the radar sensor, and the light was no longer coming on. This is now my third visit to the dealer for this issue. I picked it up, and less than 500 feet after exiting the dealer, the light was back on. Immediately made a U-turn and returned to the dealer. They told me they will have to call Toyota Tech Services on Monday to see if they "can" order a new sensor, but that they need approval from Toyota first. I use my truck for work, and this is becoming quite the inconvenience. This is my first Toyota, paid over 50K for this truck, and I'm already losing faith in Toyota.

That stinks. This issue is relatively new and I think the emblem replacement is needed.
I think you need to be the "squeaky wheel to get the oil". Contact general Manger or owner of dealership. Ask for b a me of field rep. Stress it is a work truck. Let them know they need to be your voice with Toyota corporate about proper replacement parts needed. Toyota has to make this right.
    Good luck

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been more than the squeaky wheel with these guys. If they don't have a good plan on Monday, I'm going to start making phone calls to Toyota USA.

For those of you that are experiencing these problems, I advise you to join those of us that have reported this to NHTSA.
