Been lurking around trying to get ideas on upgrading the stereo on my 2015 DC.
Stock system just does cut it . And it seems everyone was going the LCi route but I wanted to
skip that. Here's my take and it sounds great!

    Soundstream Picasso 5 channel amp
Polk Audio components in the front
Kickers in the rear (I will be replacing those)
JL Audio sub under the seat (will post pic later)

I have a 2016 Platinum with the JBL stereo and it is just not loud enough. I do not want to replace the head unit. Did you replace the amp? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

Yes I kept my stock head unit. Basically replaced the stock amp, speakers and installed a sub. The soundstream Picasso 5 channel amp is a good match because it uses the stock speakers wires as input and it's enough to power all your speakers and a single sub. Cheap way up upgrading the system and doesn't take a lot of space.

One must never stop thinking..I went a different route on my 17 dc.
Had the hu from my previous car..
That amp fits in palm of your hands..
Still need to upgrade the door speakers and sub amp..

The pbr300 runs my factory doors speakers and I have a cheap amp that runs the subs
That 8 inch is not loud outside the truck but inside your seat feels like is moving..

Thanks, still on the fence of what I want to do. Ordered another android style radio, not sure if I want to keep it. Have to cut the iso plug off and wire a harness on for the Tundra.

Ended up dumping that amp and getting a JBL amp. Sound stream was descent but wanted more umph. I also added an LC7i line converter. Much happier with the system now. Pretty good set up and does not break the budget

    Why a LCI7 and not a 6?

Looks like the 7 has bass adjustment that the 6 does not.
