Realized my drivers side rear shock was disconnected from the top mount. Upon inspection it looks like the mounting point may be broken or rusted out.

The rear shocks are pretty recent. Had them put in a few weeks ago when I had a 2” lift block added.

Is this something that’s replaceable or am I looking at major frame work?

Bringing it in tomorrow but like to have an idea what I’m dealing with going in there.

Welcome from Ca. How 'bout a pic so we can see exactly what you're talking about. There are guys that have moved shock mounts too gain travel so I'm sure yours is fixable.

If the out is what's actually broken it should be replaceable but it's going to take welding. Might be able to salvage one if you can find one online

Yeah photos would have been smart.

Here’s two of the underside of the shock mount plus the shock for good measure 92A31071-92D9-408C-86B5-EF63C93C61A9.jpg 9F316758-92A4-4A6D-A06F-785422F6A332.jpg D760F8E8-BEB6-4172-9BA6-BAFDCFE906C2.jpg

Looks like you need a little welding and grinder work there. Paint with POR15 POR=Paint Over Rust but you need to remove as much as possible first.

Yup shouldn't be hard, grinder to get most of the rust, cut out the old and weld in a new plate. May want to remove the bed and check the other mount and clean up the rust while you're doing it.

Well I do know my truck was brought to a dealer for the recall and was inspected. The dealer deemed it to not be affected so hopefully if it is a major frame rust issue I’ll have some recourse

Update: shop was able to grind the rust out and weld in a new plate. Rode great on the way home

Did they get much of that rust out? Any coating added? Glad you got it fixed!

I have the exact same issue. How much did it cost you, did you order the part?
