I had a 2016 Tacoma Limited and it had the puddle lights under the truck and also lights in the footwells.

Now I have 2018 Tundra Limited and those are prob the 2 features I miss most since my truck did not even come with the mirror puddle lamps. Anyone ever install puddle lights under their tundra?

Yep, super easy. Wired it to the courtesy circuit, comes on and shuts off with the interior/cargo lights. Not a very good pic:

You can definitely use brighter lights. I wanted something subtle and used 6 of the 8 lights I purchased.

I got cheapies from ebay for less than $10. They look like these but only have 1 diode.

where do you tap into to the courtesy circuit? I'm thinking of wiring some rock lights to my switchpros.

Under the driver side door sill. It was a very small brown wire on the 2016. I've heard the color changes in newer years. I used that as a power source and switch. Running it to the switch pros is redundant and will likely cause a problem 'cause you'd be potentially drawing current from 2 sources.

    thanks!

I am going to wire directly to it or use that wire as my "trigger" to turn on the rock lights. I'm leaning on tapping into that wire as the trigger so when it's powered, the rock lights turn on as puddle lights.

That would be MUCH better, especially with rock lights since it is a VERY small wire and I'd be worried the rock lights would pull too many amps.
