Ok have a problem tried to install the 2018 LED headlights in my 2016 Tundra TRD pro today. The problem I am having is that the passenger side will only work. The driver side only the amber parking light and turn signal will work. I can not get the low/high beams or DRL to work. I swapped headlight to passenger side to rule out a bad light and it worked. I tried to push in all the pins on the connectors to make sure they were seated right, I also swapped out Moto box from another install to make sure it wasnt bad and it wasnt. Those anybody have any idea what the problem is? I emailed eledobleu but havent gotten a response back yet. Could it be I recieved a bad harness? Had to reinstall my 2016 headlight for the time being.

Have you re checked all wiring, pin swap and ground. I used bolt at washer resevior and had to sand some paint away to ensure good ground

Also I was not paying attention and kept hooking moto box power cable to negative battery terminal, Till I figured out I was the problem. Maybe something came loose as your pushing headlights back in

I've been looking at buying a wire harness from retrofitwholesale for my 17 SR5 and have tried emailing with a couple of questions but never hear back. Has anyone bought their kit for the SR5?

Hello all just installed my harness and headlights everything works high and lows and and blinkers. Only thing i noticed is drivers side dlr is dimmer when headlights are on. And when they are off it seams the other side gets brighter. Any advice on what it could be? My truck is a platinum.

does this harness handle the hyper-flashing issue for the turn signal that usual requires the resistors?

You just have to repin the stock turn signal harness. Instructions is on the first page. Its very easy and only takes minutes. Then you will not have hyperflash issue.

    First-time poster here.

I put my OEM LED lights in last weekend (both fog and headlights) and am very happy with how the install went. I'm a bit wirephobic, but the retrofitwholesale harness kit was a breeze to work with.

Question: Should the light beams shift to the left when switching from low to high-beam? Since there isn't a side-to-side adjustment, I figure this probably has to be normal, but it seems a bit strange. I can tell the difference even when parked just ~10ft in front of my garage door.

    Thanks!

On my Platinum, DRL dims some when headlights are on and get brighter when headlights are off - but BOTH driver and passenger do this the same (i.e. both dim and both get brighter). Possible bas connection could cause only one to change? @eledobleu could answer better than me...

By the way, I took her in for an old change and some other minor stuff this week...4 different people wanted to know where I got my headlights and fogs from (this was my service writer and a few others including one tech) - gave them referrals to @eledobleu and @Roman info with printed web pages to refer to. It took me by surprise, but they do look and work great!

Ok so I have just put in my new 2018 led light in my truck and they are great. The only thing that I have wrong is that my back tail lights will not turn on when I have my actual night lights on. Is it because I did the re-pin on the signal harness incorrectly or is it from something else?

Did you do any re pinning at all? I'm torn on deleting the DRL or leaving it but if I have to get in and re pin then I may do the delete.

I did have to repin each connector coming from the factory harness at each headlight, I wanted the Amber and led running lights at the same time so I did not cut gray wire in side the cab. If you only want led running lights and no amber you have to get into dash and snip a gray wire. Oh and thanks for the compliment on the truck. Re pinning is easy to all of a few minutes

Im going go buy a harness from where you bought it. I want to know if it works the same without any problems or did you have to cut wires, because your truck looks good. How much did it cost you? Any information youll send I'll appreciate.

Are you asking me? No cutting, just re-pin the turn signal plug on each side. That's it. Of course, I had to take the grille out and the panel below each headlight for the replacement. I bought the harness fro @eledobleu when there was a group buy discount...

And if you need the 2018 oem headlights go through Roman at cool springs, That’s where I got mine. Good improvement over factory halogen.

I decided to do the grey wire DRL mod, but after unpinning what I thought was the left-hand side small grey wire, the amber DRLs are still on. I am color challenged and can't tell if the wire below the mint green (?) and above the light blue wire is a dark grey. Is that the one I should have unpinned? Thanks!

I think that’s the wrong connector.

Edit*disregard my comment. I confused it for the fog light mod.

I think you are showing the diagram for the fog light mod, not the DRL mod?
I actually did the fog lights too while I had the panel out for the DRL. That one turned out a success.

Installed the lights yesterday on my 2017 Tundra SR5. Very pleased with the results. I added a hidden switch so I can have the option for DRLs

The instructions are a little misleading. It sounds like all you need to do is to change the pins, hook up the PnP harness, and cut the wire for the DRL. There really are no instructions for the Morimoto relay harness. Yes the Morimoto relay harness is labeled but it doesnt say to hook up the power to it and there was talk about not hooking up grounds which made it more confusing. I had to go back and recheck a few things.

    Items Id change:
Use heat shrink instead of electrical tape
Instead of depinning DRL, cut and use a hidden switch

I like the idea of a switch on the DRL (if I can ever figure out which wire it is I need to remove; see my post #448 above!). Where did you put the switch and what kind did you use? Do you have pictures?
    Thanks!

Alright, I'm slow to catch on but think I get it now. I was under the impression that by removing the grey wire, the amber lights would be completely disabled, except for turn-signal/hazard lights, but it just disables the amber when the headlights are off. If I want the amber DRL disabled even with headlights on, I think I need to also pull the purple wire from the bulb connector. Turn and hazard should be unaffected.
    Is this correct?
