When I looked out the window around 730 out here in Vernal, it was just a dusting. By noon, there was a solid 8”.

We're going to get all the snow that didn't come for the last 3 months.

That's what I'm assuming... Thank god I replaced my tires last month. Haha My knobbies turned into racing slicks.
Mmmm that sounds so wonderful! I remember moving back to Utah to escape the Sub 0 we had up in Mass. haha I think it's only getting down to 17 over here. It's stupid... Wasn't it like 55 just a few days ago?

Yea, I want to say it was close to 60 here last Friday. I can definitely tolerate the Utah cold easier than the cold back east. Michigan winters were pretty brutal when I was living there. Oh well, should be back close to 50 next week.

Hey guys, question - looking at doing a lift. Did my own in the past and I've gotten lazy in my old age. Any recommendations for who in the SLC/Utah Valley area does a rockin' job?

Fat Bob's in Layton does a great job - not sure in Utah Co, but I imagine there are a lot of great shops there.

I am, or used to be actually. I had a Taco last year that I sold. I'll jump back on there and see if they've got some opinions. Thanks for the tip!

They pointed me in the direction of Six States down in Orem to get my gears done. Seems like a really quality shop with lots of ring and pinion experience. Good prices too. Worth the 6 hour round trip for me!

What time frame are you looking to have it done? My shop can do it but we're in the middle of moving to orem. Otherwise check out Jack It! Or low range offroad.

Yea, one of my favorite in the state. I keep telling my gf we're moving to Hanksville. She tells me to quit joking around. I'm serious, though.

If the Utah Tundra crew were to organize something similar, where would it be? Moab area? San Rafael Swell? St. George area? Glen Canyon NRA? Elsewhere?

Yeah Moab for sure. Some of us tossed around the idea of putting something together last year, but the timing didn’t work. I start plans for T2S in October for the April event. Start by talking to the forest service or whoever manages the land where you want to host the event. They’ll give you an idea of group size limits, permits and costs and stuff.

So the family and I are visiting Utah in May and we were going to check out a couple neighborhoods since my wife recently heard of a position opening through her company. Anyone live in Cottonwood Heights or the surrounding area? Are there areas you might recommend or possibly watch out for? Not like crime, but certain sides of the city that may have certain amenities only locals may know about? We have a 2.5 yr old boy and a 6 month old boy for reference. Any info is much appreciated! Thanks!

On a more Tundra related note, are there any good off-roading areas, camping spots, mountain biking in the Utah area? We are born and raised in CA so it may be a culture shock for us to have weather but we are excited for this potential opportunity. It may not happen until later this year and we may push it back until the spring time to avoid any snow, ha, snow, I am going to freeze out there.

I'm not from the SLC area, so I'll let someone else comment on that. But Utah as a whole has tons off good off-roading, camping, mountain biking, etc. I live in Vernal, 3 hours east of SLC. Out here we're known for desert singletrack, white water rafting, fly fishing, dinosaurs, and general all-around redneck culture. Over 70% of Utah is state or federally owned, so lots of public land to roam on.

Depending on where you're at, the weather here can be pretty mild. We're a little over 5k in elevation, and we barely had a winter.
