They want $100 for the amp replacement set, wow!

Are the Kc leds strips or individual leds,
I’ll check out the Kc’s any better place to get them!

Not that I know of. Looking just now pricing seems to be consistent at $26 per light at almost all vendors. I'm not going to get them right now, hell I just installed the steps a few hours ago. But I've seen a couple of vids of the cyclones and they are crazy bright for suck a small light

Yeah that sounds smart, I’ll Waite and see how these hold up and even if they go out amp has the 5 year warranty but I doubt that includes the led’s!

I kept calling them each time a LED went out and they sent me replacements. I liked the little package of their LEDs, but not the purple look. Point is if anything goes wrong, call them first...unless, of course, you want to just replace them just because you want to...

Thanks, yeah they are fine, I was just curious of any alternatives1 The light that they throw are ok and work and yeah the color isn't the best, maybe a white would work!

I'm working on something now, if it works out I'll share the details. When I had my F250 the LEDs were worthless, I couldn't make it 2 weeks without one going out, yes they were always willing to give replacements, but I just got tired of changing them out. I eventuall installed just some 6" LED tape-on strip lights and they were still working when I got rid of the truck. A lot if the superduty guys tossed the amp LEDs and just used rigid industries low power a-series or another brand of rock lights in place of them, I was gonna make the switch myself, but got rid of the truck before it happened.

I may have an alternative for the lighting issue of the AMP power strips. I'm in the marine industry, and IMTRA makes some very nice waterproof lighting products for that industry. They offer a "Neon" style LED rope light that is unlike any of the regular cheap round rope light. It's a defused rectangular strip that provides a solid glowing type look without the individual led or hotspot look. I have seen this in person, granted not on a truck, and they look very nice. I'm thinking about getting the AMP steps and may try these lights instead. They are offered in various colors as well.

I placed an order for the PnP version today and really looking forward to them. Will have the current MGM color matched steps on the market very soon.

im sure that would have been easier but i did it just fine with 2. took about 4 hrs then clean up of the inside after wiring. this was the non PnP version. so far they have been amazing and the best thing i have done to the truck. its also saving my driver side seat bolster from wearing out when i used to have to slide out.

@94slowbra , what prompted you to pick the non PnP over the PnP? Just seems the PnP would be much easier to deal with.

the $100 savings. honestly the non PnP version was not hard at all to install. id say an extra hour or so and it was done. the routing of the harness was the same for both. if i did it again i would go the same route.

Well my rock lights are here, the strips I'm gonna put under the steps are here, just waiting on the T-nuts from amp research to show up, a day off, and I'll get some installed pics of 1,400 lumens lighting up the side of my truck.

Lots of light there...I decided not to add any lights on the steps because my puddle lights are bright enough after changing them to LEDs...

Yea, that will definitely be bright. Those rock lights get fairly good reviews for a lower priced light.

As for the strip light, are you referring to the channel on the back side of the step where it mounts to the arms? Wouldn't this shine underneath the truck?

Yep, no more shadow from the steps blocking the light.
