Tundra parked outside in urban neighborhood in Davis, CA
1/26/2018 Rats chewed undermanifold cover, Radiator line and a number of other hoses and wires. Repairs cost $1500
2/1/2018 Got Tundra back from Dealership good as new
2/2/2018 12 hours later, same damage plus a fuel line.
Left tundra at dealership for 2 weeks as insurance asks WTF. Another $1500 repair.
2/20/2018 Got Tundra back from Dealership good as new. Pest Control killing rats for 3 weeks. Parking Tundra a block away from home.
2/23/2018 Parked Tundra in driveway for 10 minutes to load gear for weekend found new rat turds on manifold cover !#@$^@$##$%^!
Currently - 2 Rat traps loaded to bear on manifold cover. I think they are nesting somewhere in fenders, bumpers or side panels somewhere.
Anyone have advice or where to look would be appreciated.

Be very restrained with the use of poison. We have had mice die deep inside the dash and were not aware until the smell became bad. Had to disassemble a lot to get to it and it was really difficult to get the stench out.

This happened in my wife’s Tacoma not my pro.

call your local Honda dealer get a couple rolls of rodent electrical tape and wrap everything wire harnesses fuel lines hoses. its extreme but you have an extreme problem. ive used on customers cars at work that have had repeated rodent problems. you can get it on ebay or Amazon also just search "Honda rodent tape" its expensive but seems to work

I can only imagine how frustrating that would be. I had a rat that was practically uncatchable sneaking into my house. Little basterd! Just when I thought I got rid of him he’d be back. Or it was one of his family members I don't know. I caught a baby with a glue trap. Then after months of setting a trap where I found droppings I finally got him. I would always find the trap set off but with no prize. I caught him slipping in one day. Snapped effing neck! If they were in my truck I would feel like bringing the whole thing down. Good luck stopping this. Everyone’s suggestions sounded pretty good.

Cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil and distributed around the engine bay should help.

Feels sad to hear this Blue14Crewmax. Are you still facing the problem. Rats are very smart and they can eat anything. I would also suggest same like driverdog that you should use some different baits at the same time but at different locations. You should also check that from where the rats are coming. You should try some pesticide sprays to kill the nesting and if you want to take the help of some professional Exterminator Danbury CT services, you can check for them online. You can also check for some easy and helpful tips to get rid of the problem.

I was doing it every month or when the odor was totally gone. Also good to spray around the vehicle where it will be parked.
