Hi guys. I'm looking to buy new tundra today. Can anyone tell me if the flared out (or fatter lip on tailgate) presents any type of problem with transporting bikes on a tailgate pad? This would only pertain to newer model/style tailgate. Thanks guys

Welcome Joey. There's no problem with the tailgate and carrying bikes like Joon illustrated above.^^^^^

No problem for me either. Although you should buy a full size one as that one Joonbug has looks a bit small. They normally come in two sizes.

It will transport with no problem, but the flare of the tailgate will be in an awkward spot on your fork stanchions. For short trips no problems but longer trips and over time it would cause damage to your stanchions. Just my .02

PS. I use a pad but found a used tailgate and modified the flare. That was my biggest concern as well coming from a 2013 tundra with a non flared tailgate.

That’s not mine. I don’t ride bikes wiffout motors. I’m way too lazy to pedal. :D

As just about everyone here has said, The flared out top side of the tailgate does not interfere in any way....Post some pics of your 2-wheel steeds
