Going to get to see how well the 224 Valkyrie performs in a couple weeks ordered a guy a barrel yesterday. And this Barrel will be a good specimen of how good the cartridge is we're going with a cut rifling Rock Creek Barrel.

I just read up on that round. Pretty impressive, post up your results when you get them.

He will be shooting it fairly quickly after it's done I'm sure so I'll let you know what he thinks. If it's good I will probably build myself one.:)

Let me know when it's built what kind of bolt and carrier. I'm assuming standard 6.8.

Yeah 6.8 bolt I already ordered all the parts. I always run LWRC enhanced 6.8 bolts anytime I build something on a 6.8 case.

@Prostar 190 how do you like Aero precision? I have a few AR's and have been looking at doing a few more builds using them. No one around where I am has any of there stuff, but everything I read gives them 2 thumbs up. What is your opinion?

I have built alot of AR's and have used different brands form Wilson Combat to the Aero Precision stuff. I can say that the Aero Precision M4E1 stuff I like the best always fits great and has awesome features. I have never had a bad set from Aero Precision and can't say that about the others.

One good tip is if you're going to build a black anodized set or fde. Buy your lower receiver from Aero directly and get free shipping than buy your upper and handguard from
graniteridgeoutfitters.com you will save a decent amount of money and they ship free also.

I finally got to take my AR 10 out and put some shots down range. It's the 1st time I've shot it with my new scope mount and I'm more than pleased with the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6×24 on a Warne mount. Nothing to brag about but laying prone with sand bags and shooting 1.25"groups at 100yds with surplus ammo. I'll take that for now.

I have a 10.5" AR and I'm wondering what type of muzzle device you guys are using. I currently have an A2 but I'm looking to buy either a liner comp or flash can

My boss has a Cookie Cutter on his. Very impressive!! Especially at night, initially I thought it was kind of hokey. Pretty cool, I'll probably get it when I build my 11.5 Grendel.

I know you said you had a lot of Grendel's have you've been reloading your own ammo yet and if so are you able to match the factory Hornady velocities. I was going to try and get ahold of Leupold that custom cut me a CDS turret.

I haven't started reloading yet, hopefully in the near future, heck that is another hobby in itself. I have read of people getting near Hornady velocities and sometimes better, but that is one Holiday Inn Express I have not stayed at.

I’ve used a lot of different muzzle devices, and have come to the realization an A2 is tough to beat on a 5.56 gun. Sure you can spend more money, and make more noise, but they work.

One of my rifles has the BCM compensator, but it came free on the upper. My 11.5” has an A2.
