After our trip 2 weeks ago to Utah, without the trailer, I did not like the cab area full of the luggage and such for the trip. Too cluttered. I promptly ordered the AeroBox from www.ecoological.com and am very happy with the results, and how easy I can remove it, store it, or get it out of the way for loading into the bed. It even has wheels for transporting. I had one small install issue, and they promptly sent me the replacement hardware AND changed their hardware that is sent, and directions, based upon my recommendations. VERY AWESOME Customer service! If you order. Tell Grant that Lee sent you! They are offering a deal for Free shipping right now. Email them for a special code!

As you can see, I took the pics in the rain, and the inside stays nice and dry!

I know! The fact that they work, and hold a lot are great! We ran to IKEA this weekend. 2 minutes later I had the aerobox out and was able to load everything and put the box sideways in bed, and not a worry at all. Unloaded, and a minute later aerobox was back in ready to go!

SSO Slimline comes next week, and the front chrome will be painted blank even removed for install. Cannot have the rear inconsistent from the front, so... until rear bumper is acquired:

    Clean, sand,mask.
    3-4 coats Duplicolor Bumper Trim.
3-4 coats Duplicolor Spray on Bed Liner!

Added the SSO Slimline last night. Took too much on for the night with the painting off the end caps as well. Finished at 2:30am with a little alignment issues of the end caps that I can fix later. But more importantly the X20 could not fit with the SR30 Rigid, and the solenoid is just sitting next to it. I will need to reposition that as well.

    UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
Talked to Kevin at SSO im great length. It seems they have had one other problem with the fitment and thought it was just the winch (Not an X20 or Xeon). The tabs they use for the lightbar mount are standard tabs. The Tundra being so shallow seems to need a little more cut out of the tab mount to allow the bolt to drop a little further down and out towards the front of the bumper. Due to this issue, there will be a redesign (slight) of the bracket, which will basically consist of extending the hole a little more where the bolts slide in. This will make the light bar flush, or protruding from the front slightly, rather than flush to the inside metal wall of the bumper. Not a big deal at all, but if it stops the possibility of such a tight fit, then it is a good thing

Incidentally, the Heise and BD bars are not nearly as deep and "styled" like the Rigid has for heat sinks, and this is where the issue is, the Light bar. It is all a learning experience, and I have to commend Kevin at SSO for being right there with me and taking the time. They have been excellent, and ever offered a discount that I declined, as the money doesnt mean as much as the support and empathy.

I will drop the bumper, use a dremel to bring the tab mount forward a little, and figure out the relocation of the solenoid to a better more aesthetically appealing position (for my peace of mind).

    Hope this dialogue helps everyone!

Updated SSO install pics after a slightly better placement of the SR30. I dremeled the mount as much as I could to bring the light forward, but it still doesn’t fit as well as it should. Also zipped down the control box solenoid and double sided taped it.
Added the Smittybilt 8’ extension as well for the winch power.

Adjusted bumper ends for better fit and even lines..

curious about this. are you running your CB through this or the one attached to the bed? i've been looking for options to replace the AM/FM factory antenna with a Firestik for the CB. i'll be putting the HAM antenna into the roof. any info you have would be appreciated.

Firestik in bed is for HAM and the lack of flexibility on the AM/FM, along with a very thin screw into the antenna base, has caused it to snap 2 times for me. I have since returned to stock until I can figure out a stronger attachment, or more flexible CB looking antenna.

Am I correct that that is only a 2M antenna or do they make a dual band? My favorite Diamond antenna got snapped off by a tree the last time out, so I need to find something more forgivable to using on outings.

i'm going with two different antennas. a comet ssb-1 nmo for on the trail. it's short, 16", and flexible so it'll bend if you hit a branch. then i'll use a longer ssb-5 nmo for longer road trips or more open trails like down in the swell.

I'll take a look at the ssb-1, flexible would be nice. I'm going to be using my short Diamond NR72B until I get a new 1/2 wave.

Changed to mount of the iPad from the floor with extension to the dash:

The rubber cover will cover up any holes. Drilled one for the power cable too.

All RAM mount pieces. I took the setup from my 4Runner based on Lifestyle Overland's setup:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZjNYsk4by8

    Parts list:
    http://www.lifestyleoverland.com/ram-mount-solutions/

Tried to mount it to the floor of the Tundra, but it wasnt very secure. Decided.."What the Hell, might as well drill it down to be stable, and cover it up when/if I remove" Sure enough, quick and easy. It uses the X-Grip RAM mount, RAM 2.5" Round ball mount on the RAM mount iPad holder, and one on the dash, and 2 of the Short Double Socket Arms and 1 of the Long length Socket Arms.

Last I knew, you can order the hood bulge and surround for a trd pro model. That’s what I did.

Ordering a '17 makes sense if you just need the surround. I asked him specifically about an '18 honeycomb grill with cement surround.

Yep, if you like the insert you have, ordering the Pro grille is the way to go. If you don't like it, ordering a Sport/Platinum grille and having the surround painted is what you'll need to do.
