Drove through deep snow yesterday but couldn't manage to get stuck. Happy with my purchase, couldn't really afford to spend $200-300 on something I may only use once or twice. If they get me out of a jam and fall apart it will be money well spent. image.jpg

I haven't made it back up to the mountain to go play. We were going to go last Friday when the kids had off school but they didn't want to go play in the snow.

Not available on Amazon Canada. Boo hiss. I may have to time an order for over Christmas when we head back to my parent's place just north of the border so I can ship them to Sumas, WA and have a friend go pick them up. My passport is expired and I've forgotten to renew it of course. Bugger.

I went up to Mt Hood on the 22nd fully intending on trying these out. We went to Govt camp and went tubing but there wasn’t any empty room. Decided to head up to Timberline since they were requiring chains/traction tires up that road. There wasn’t an empty area up there.... so unfortunately no I haven’t had to use them yet.

Because a tow truck could cost 2 or 3 times that amount easy.

So you want a measurement of the height when stacked and if there are mounting holes. The distance between them.. I’ll go look on my next break. Which is in like an hour.

Used a few times, and other than discoloring at stress points they seem pretty durable. Let me know what dimensions you want or need.

    Good to hear! Thanks
Looks more red than salmon like the x-bull are.

If you could please, the mounting hole dimensions. Distance between the 4 central holes, looks like a rectangle looking at how yours are mounted.

    Also the stacked height please.

I'm saying dont be cheap. You've already waited 6 months for someone to review them when you could have saved 50 a month and bought Maxtrax, which wouldn't be waste if you get into some sticky shit. The 100 you spend on these might come back to bite you anyways if they snap in half

Ok so I took a picture but can’t upload it on the work WiFi and I’m in this circle of no reception from cell service so I’m not waiting for the pic to upload right now. Height from bottom to the top of the tread nipples is 4.25”. Mounting holes are 24” apart and I believe a 1/2” diameter. Depending on how you were going to mount them you could use a lot shorter bolt since the mounting holes are in the tread portion.

Sounds like Vizsla has had good luck.

Just going through my watched posts and happened to see I was still sub'd. Does it really hurt to ask?

Havent needed them as of yet, probably wont need them in the near future. So I have nothing but time on my side. Plenty of other recovery gear to help me out in a pinch.

While I dont disagree on the "being cheap" I also find it silly that maxtrax run about $300 for something like this. They and Tred have had their failures, warrantied out by the mfg no questions asked. Might be good to just bite the bullet for the lifetime warranty aspect of it...?
