Has anyone here installed the Camberg mid travel kit below on the Gen 1 Tundra? I am looking for off road performance and want to see if this kit worth it.
Also or just get the Camberg UCA with my current Bilstein 5100 (6 mos old) and call it a day.
    Thanks

I have no experience with that precise kit but it all looks good except for the rear shocks. I'd probably opt for a 2.5 piggyback. But really it comes down to how you're gonna use it. The whole kit could be overkill or it could fall way short of what you want.

Just based on what pops up on their site, I’m not seeing one for the 1st gens, only the 2nd-3rds.

Another option: Call MCM Fabrication http://stores.mcmfablv.com/
Pretty sure that I saw on his Facebook that he is making UCAs for the first gen Tundra. However, these are not listed on his site yet.

Let him know what you want out of your truck and he'll set you up with some sweet ADS coil overs/ shocks.

That kit is definitely worth the money, both on and especially off road. Fox and King make great suspension products but are overkill for 90% of the buyers. I considered going with Fox or King on my last 4Runner but went with ICON and was very happy with the choice. Icons will be going on the tundy with some TC uca’s.

It depends on the type of off-roading you enjoy. Also, getting just the uca’s will make you want to upgrade the 5100’s. I say upgrade both and keep the billies for when you need to rebuild the coilovers.

I have this eXact kit on order, and am currently tracking them. Slated for delivery tomorrow.

Via some conversations with the guys at Camburg, and at SDHQ (where I purchased it from) this system, though super overkill for my application, would still provide the best ride possible. I opted into the DSC's as it allows me to dial the dampening back another 15% softer.

Further, I knew if I did any less than full bore, I wouldn't be happy. Buy right, or buy twice.

I won't have any actual experience with the kit for another week, or two. I have run Billy's tho... they were fine, but I was looking for the best this time around.

...yeah, I figure I'll step into the resi's in the rear when I rebuild the fronts. The price delta between the base 2.0's and the R/R w/ DSC's is such that I didn't think it was necessary at present.

For now, the extra smoothness and adjustability up front will be dreamy, methinks...

I'll report back once I know for sure. But, if it were me, I'd pull the trigger all over again! Hahahahjfjfjevs

I am thinking ADS vs Fox resi with clicker in the front but Fox doesn't offer resi for the rear and ADS does.

I have the camburg UCA and the Fox 0-3” shocks with adjustable resis on the front of my 2nd gen it rides amazing! Beats buying some stupid spacer to lift your front end and it allows for 35” tires with no rubbing.

You know, Matt at MCM told me an LT first gen pulls the same travel #s as 2nd and 3rd gen MT.

Well, there was a little issue with front wheel rubbed the hose fitting on the resis of the driver side and lost some oil so I shipped it back to ADS and waited couple days later to get it shipped back to me. Installed and still dial in. I have the thread measured 1 5/8" on the drive side and 1 1/4" on the pass and it sits at the same height with Bilstein 5100 tallest setting, maybe the bumper and the winch are heavy. Couldn't find 16" inches rim with 3" BS so I ordered the wheel spacers.
Will be doing some wheeling with local Adopt a trail tomorrow and if I have extra time will be testing the desert.

Cool, 1st gens are cheap and still reliable, I think I want 2.5” shocks. King only has fronts for 1st gens but they can make whatever you want, I think I’ll try ADS

I really like my ADS. But if I had Kings I'm sure I'd really like them too. Nothing wrong with a Franken truck. King fronts, ADS rears?

Yup, I might do the same to my 14 tundra since the rear ADS bypass is spec’d for the deaver k37
