Thanks. Sounds like it could be this FFV issue. When I bought it, deer mentioned a recall to take care of first. Involving a code fix. Probably it. Idk. Wonder if they actually did it. Could it be doing the truck any harm if I don't resolve it?

Worth a try. I would look into it before anything is done.

Hey guys I'm new to this form so here's the deal I'm having the exact same issues that he's having with his I've got a 2014 Tundra with a little over 90,000 miles

Mine started out with the same issues barely starting and now sometimes it doesn't like to start I would like to find out how I can check the pressure of my fuel should I buy a tool for that or should I go somewhere and let someone else do it for me

I'll try to find a slope to park on tonight and see if it makes a difference

Firestone Airbags; remote starter; replaced stock mirrors with larger, pull-out mirrors for towing; hard plastic sectional cover for bed.
I'd go over lots of other things before dropping the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump. It could be something as simple as a dirty fuel injector or even dirty air filter or TPS sensor. (It does have 90,000 miles) Last time plugs were replaced? Even dirty oil can effect cold starting. (How about the fuel filter?)

I'm thinking there's an easy way to check the fuel pressure without having to drop the fuel tank and if I get bad readings then I can drop the tank and try to figure out if it's a bad pump or filter I've already checked all the fuses

I'll buy the MFA spray tomorrow and see if I can't find a pressure gauge but what do I do about the FFV does it take care of itself or do I have to take it to the dealer I have no idea

Well that's good to know seeing as I've never taken it back to the dealer since I bought it brand new

Not sure when I'll be able to go because I am in the field right now but as soon as I get it done I'll let you know how it went

Okay small update so I parked with the front of the truck pointing down and the back of it higher than the front and I still had the same problem starting it this morning.

Okay so I took it to the dealer today and they did an ECM software update and I was told that would fix the problem.

Thanks for the help hopefully this works if it doesn't I'll get back on here.

So I haven't posted on here in a while but I figured I was due an update. I went to dealer recently and was told I had no updates to do. Hesitant start continued every now and then. But this last time I filled up the tank I put some decent Exxon gas in her as opposed to crappy base gas (gas station on Air Force base). I have not had any problems since. Knock on wood. I think the old girl just needed something decent to drink.

I've had the same problem with my Tundra. Dealership checked it out and found nothing. I was told to use higher grade fuel to see if the problem would go away, and it did. So I only use premium fuel in my truck. The wife used it and filled it up with 87 octane and I started having issues again. After a few tanks of premium the problem stops. Crazy!

I had the same issue with my 2014 tundra 1794. Come to find out it was the computer for the flex fuel needed to be adjusted and reflashed.

Hi, i had the same issue last year April 2019 to the point that the alternator went bad and i had to replaced it. It was working fine until Now February 2020 is doing the same thing i got the battery and the alternator tested and it passed so far. Is this a common problem with Toyota Tundras? I'll try higher grade fuel and maybe a fuel treatment and I'll post the results. I do park it nose down, but it doesn't make any difference. I have a 2014 Tundra 1794 Edition.
