    Hi guys,

I didn't see a specific thread related to either of these so please if it's been answered before just share the thread.

    1. When I start up my 2016 CM, there's this weird vibration that happens with the truck. Generally lasts for about 5 seconds and goes away. It feels like the entire truck is shaking slightly.

    2. When I turn off the ignition, there's this weird sound coming from the passenger side engine/dash area. It almost sounds like a turbo or a vacuum sound.

Has anyone had any knowledge of this? My car is still under warranty and I have Toyota extended care so want to make sure if it's something abnormal to take it in (even though I should and will do that regardless).

    Thank you.

Can't help you with the shake part, but my truck makes the same sucking noise you are describing when I shut it off. I've heard the same sound on numerous Tundra's so I'm pretty sure its normal

Yep, same here. Not sure what it is. I’m sure someone who knows will chime in.

I get a noise from the same area of my dash but it's more of a mechanical sound than a vacuum sound. Something related to the climate controls possibly. I also get a faint vibration at start up. It seems to be intermittet and is more apparent during cold weather. It lasts a few seconds or so and then fades and usually repeats 2 or 3 times. After the idle drops down it won't do it. Neither one seems to pose a problem but it would be nice to know what they are.

Sounds like this is not a one off situation for you?

I had a one incident of that happening, it hasn’t repeated and I couldn’t figure it out nor did anyone else say they experienced it; I started a short lived thread on this. So I can’t help but it seems uncommon. Next time it happens, record it and show it to dealer.

Never heard of the shaking, but the sound you are describing is the air pumps. Completely normal.

Mine is just starting to vibrate somewhere by the p-side, it sounds like a heat shield thats loose but I think it’s cuz it’s cold most mornings now here in the CA desert. The vacuum sound is normal on all tundras, I believe it’s the AIP pumps(or called something else) doing what they’re supposed to do.
