Mike, are you considering new/ different headlights? Or are you satisfied with the GTR bulbs that you are running?

#B- When loading your quad onto the cover, couldn't you put the ramps off the wall of your driveway/yard to decrease the steep loading angle?

Edit- I vote get the black fender flare bolts or paint them.

 

Don't know if anyone uses this, but I can attest to it making a huge difference and I highly recommend it. Every 5k miles or so I will spray my heim joints. Immediately after I can tell a huge difference and improvement in the steering. The steering is so smooth and effortless after applying the spray. It lasts a pretty long time but I can tell around 5k it's time for another application.

I must credit David Elkstrom with this tip. He sells great products and is a wealth of information on the Tundra.

 

Hey Dan, I am satisfied with the GTR bulbs and they make a huge difference over stock. I'm just the type of guy always looking to see what's out there.

Good observation on the loading angle. I actually do that. I park my truck at the bottom of the hill and drive down the hill perpendicular to decrease the angel of loading it. If I didn't do that I got to admit, even after lots of experience riding, it's pretty fucking hairy.

Need help.....

Think I know the answer but I gotta ask anyway. So I brought my 16 pro in for complimentary 25k tire rotation. Keep in mind i have stock wheels, 1.25 spidertrax spacers, 295/70r18 Nitto RG's. Over the chrome acorn style stock lug I have color lugs.

When I stopped OMW home I checked all my color lugs to make sure they were on all way. On 1 lug it felt like it turned when I pushed, so I removed color lug and sure enough I was able to wiggle it back and forth a little. So I took out the provided lug wrench and tightened down but it didn't turn or get any tighter. When I removed the wrench I was still able to turn slightly counter and clockwise with my fingers by hand.

Basically even though the lug seems tightened all the way there is a little play in the lug end to where I can turn it back and forth a little.

Is this ok or normal? What did they do at service, never noticed before and rest don't turn at all. Again, the turning is minimal back and forth and I don't think the whole lug is even turning, seems like the end of the acorn style lug top has a little play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I got caught up in the momemt too a few years ago when I was dealing with a piece of crap snowblower. After hours of tinkering and almost dying of exhaust fumes inhalation, I grabbed the largest hammer I could and completely destroyed it. I actually remember picking it up, swinging it around and throwing it a few feet (ok...maybe a few inches).

Yeah...afterwards, I looked around to see if any of the neighbors saw me.

 

Nothing too crazy. Between snow plowing and water main breaks here in NJ I've been working more than sleeping. I guess bright side it gives me more scratch to spend. Working on a couple small things at the moment and should have done over the next few weeks.

Latest addition, husky all weather exact contours in the back with the extended coverage under the seat, thanks to Dan @dradd.

They definitely better and have much more coverage than the factory all weather mats. Prob should have front soon to match along with something a little special for them and my keys.

This is what I finally came home to after the first big storm. Then we got hit with over 2 feet a couple days after this one. Yes those are cars on right lol. Too bad I was zombie mode after the second storm bc if those cars didn't move and I took a pic after the 2nd round of 2 feet there's no way you would even be able to tell there's a car under it.

I was out in both the storms plowing and it was like Armageddon. I'd pull down a street to push like 6 inches of snow I just pushed like 2 hours ago and as I did trees were dropping on my work truck or as I turned around to back up I'd have 2 or 3 trees laying across the road wrapped in power lines that 20 seconds ago weren't there as I passed through. It was pretty crazy. I've seen crazy shit over the years but this was def 1 of the more crazy. 2 storms back to back with heavy snow and crazy winds, with rain before all that, just enough to soften the root system and dirt around the trees to help them fall bc covered in ice n snow with 60 mph winds.
Yup, good times lol.

 

Got 2 packages today. First 1 is from wicked rails. They make custom 20,000lb recovery hooks. This thing is beastly and should have no problem pulling logs out the woods plus offering my rear bumper some protection from tailgaters and parking too damn close. Hence the visible red color.


To keep it safe from theft I purchased the bolt lock that opens via your toyota key. Both awesome products.


I didn't like the look of the chrome on the bolt
so I decided to hit the visible part with some of this.


I think it turned out good. At times I think the hook is a bit flamboyant for my tastes, other times I like it and do want it to be visible to others.

Then I got husky to "replace" the front with some closeup pics hint hint. So I made out pretty damn good. Got the whole setup mats n decals total double the shipping. I can't complain there. Take a look at the thread by @Achuop for husky replacement badges or logos. There u can see his designs to pick from or u can do like me and get a little custom 1 of a kind by adding a little. Or just tell him what u want and he can prob do just about anything.

If u zoom in on this pic u can see the red ring around the logo, makes it pop imo and plus gives me 1 that no one else has. Love being different.

Yep, those areas were wrinkled and wouldn't lay flat. I never tried a heat gun/ hair dryer to see if that helped but it may. If you contact Husky, they may have some ideas on how to get it to relax/ unwrinkle.

 

I told them I thought the back would end up ok, just not happy with front. So they sent me front, how's that for a deal right. Great customer service. Awesome company.

 

Yeah, their customer service is top notch. I'll never put anything other than husky in my vehicles in the future.

My console was getting crazy so did this to it. For like 30 bucks it's well worth it and seems to make even more room than without.

 

Excited audio system comes tomorrow and will get installed sometime during the week, can't wait.

 

Decided to let the truck get out in it's natural environment today. Needed to remind myself why I went with the +3 shackle in rear. With all the weight it looks leveled. Glad I went with the function over looks here. Although i like the look of the tires taking up the whole wheel well, it's not only the weight of the wood and trailer. Once I get it loaded I'm basically driving up and down a very steep dirt muddy road packed with bumps, rocks, sticks ect. The extra space in there allows for the compression on the terrain with all the extra weight on the trailer, plus all my saws, tools, and recovery equipment in the bed. Can def notice it squatting a bit but handles like a champ.

Although it's a pretty bitch, she does get it in when it comes to work and hauling. It is still a truck and it does truck things. I just take real good care of it, when it's all done working and getting filthy, I give it a nice bath and cleaning soon after. That'll be tomorrow. Little tired after loading and unloading about 4 cords of wood.

So here it is, getting out in it's natural habitat.
