I have a new 18 Platinum CM and it came with the factory alarm. How do I know if it also has the Glass Break Sensor (not trying the obvious)?

My truck is out in the snow and I'm not, or I'd snap a picture. It looks like a microphone down by your USB input and 12v outlets

Ok, I have that microphone looking piece towards the bottom of the dash between the USB input and the lighter plugs. If that means I have it then how can I make it more sensitive because I banged on the window and nothing happened?

@RowdyRon I have the window sticker also but it doesn't list it, however when I look up the "Platinum Edition" online it shows that as a standard option. Just want to make sure it's actually installed and not something I have to pay extra to add.

This will sound silly, is it turned on? Unless you asked for it to be, it probably isn’t.

Edited - was referring to the alarm, not the glass sensor.

@Vizsla Not a silly question at all, that's actually what my concern is. From what some of the other people posting on here said, it looks like I have it installed (the microphone part is on the dash) but I don't know, without actually breaking a window, if it's activated. Trying to figure out if there is a better way to do that.

Park your truck and leave the door unlocked for a few minutes, then open it and wait. Your alarm will go off if activated.

I'm more concerned with the glass break feature and the sensitivity of the unit. If you have the alarm part does it automatically come with the glass break sensor?

Yes, but if the alarm is not on, it does nothing.

@BlueBottle yep, I have that. Now how do I check/adjust the sensitivity because I punched the driver's side window pretty good and nothing?

You can’t punch the glass. It detects the frequency of glass breaking.

    Do this.

Sit in the car. Lock it with the fob. Wait 1 minute.
Bang your fist against the glass and rattle keys together in a key chain. That should set it off.

I’ve never tested my glass break sensor but I do know if I flip the sideview mirrors in while the alarm is on that it sets it off. I figure if it’s sensitive my enough for that, it will go off if someone smashed the window.

There are apps that you can put on your phone that sound like glass breaking. Give that a try not sure if it will work but don’t why it won’t

Sorry I was wrong, went in techstream, the glass sensor should be on by default. The passive?(door open) is off by default, and must have been what the dealer enabled on mine. It was annoying, wish it was never turned on.

i have a thread about installing the gbs. there is a control unit under your dahs that you can adjust the sensitivity on. you should be able to tap your glass with your key and it should go off, or if you clap your hands loudly it should also set it off.

In my Tacoma the microphone thing has a blinking red LED. Tundra doesn't !!
Can you replace it with a Mic with blinking LED?
