NorthStar 27F has my vote for my needs.
Well over the needed CCA's for when it is cold (1,080 - 930)
along with the needed Ah for when the weather is hot (91 Ah)
As some one stated earlier it will hold and provide the necessary feed for an aftermarket audio system

I bought a battery to fit my needs vise popularity. The Odyssey met my needs but the NorthStar met and exceeded the demands of the accessories installed on my truck with additional cushion. I have an original Optima yellow top still going strong with 15 plus years and counting, by paper specifications the Northstar and Oddyssey looks to beat it with no problem.

Mine (No manufacturer's name, just that it's a 27F and sold by Toyota) will be replaced in the near future. It has no discernible date code, which tells me it's probably the factory battery. I'd planned on replacing it before now, but as the saying goes: "Shinola happens". When I do replace it, it'll be with a Die Hard AGM. The price difference between Die Hard and either North Star or Odyssey is too great. I ran Optima's for years, but the last few have had short life spans and some sellers limit the warranty to 18 months. Something I didn't realize until one died shortly after the 18 month warranty expired. It says a lot about the quality of a battery when the seller calls bullshit on the factory 3 year warranty.

The weight is a beast but it has the handles to help you install. ;) So where is your vote? It was tied at 5 before you purchased.

Did some of my own measuring:

    Stock is 7 15/16 tall not including posts (8 7/8 with), 11 7/8 wide and 6 3/4 deep.

The northstar is 8 1/16 tall not including posts, 12 1/2" wide and 6 3/4" deep.

Interesting that the dimensions differ from your 2012 and my 2015. Makes me want to double check everything before I buy.

Sorry to res an old thread but does Diehard make an AGM battery that fits our truck? When I search their site it comes up with Group 34 but based on above it looks like we use size 24 or 27?

Currently, from what the previous owner put in, I have an AC Delco Professional Silver (35PS) - Group 35.

Thing still works if it doesn't get too cold, however it's over 5 years old I believe. Not bad for a $100 battery.

NorthStar batteries look nice, however... very expensive.

May just get another AC Delco one. If it can last me atleast 5 years, and its only $150 or so, then I'm satisfied....

    Hmm... we'll see.

The fuse box cover or battery tie down? I made both. The sticker is from ebay, I painted it green, then laid the sticker over it. The Battery tie down is 1.5" Stainless, drilled out with different size bits.

I put a 49EXT O’reilly auto parts (super start) battery in about a year ago. It sits on the tray, rather than in. But I have no problem leaving auxiliary lights, 2 12” subs, or powering any other accessories while out camping. It’s 900 CCA with a 185 minute reserve capacity.

Didn’t see any one else mention the 49 group size, so just wanted to mention that it’s a option! :)
