So my Diehard battery has been giving me fits the past few days. Some mornings it will turn the starter, others it just clicks and I have to hook the charger up to it.

What size of battery do you recommend?
    What brand?
    Cold Cranking Amps?

It is 2 degrees where i live currently and that is not the normal here, usually around 37 degrees.

Tetrus, as Ron said above, there is plenty of info on what batteries , what's the best, etc.
I have the Duralast Gold @ 750 cranking amps. No complaints so far. Ran me around $150.

Size 27. Plenty of battery options out there. Depends on budget, use.

Group 27. I have the Toyota True Start in mine. Haven't had any problems. I do want to upgrade to an Optima though. I have one in my Xterra that will not die!!!!

Keep in mind that there are two versions of group 27. I think 27F has the posts at the front not at the rear of the battery. Battery cables won't reach.

Correct!!!! I forgot to mention that!!! I love my Optima. Its 6+ years old and starts my mini monster like a charm. Be it below freezing or hot as hell.

Well thanks for the suggestion the battery that was currently in it was in fact defective (group 35 Diehard Gold Battery, 3 years old). I ended up cheaping out and buying an Everlast MAXX group 35 (640 cca). Upon review, I wish I would have got the group24f as it has 740 cca, thought that could have cause issues dureing the 100+ degree summers here.

My original Toyota battery lasted 9 years and I replaced it with another Toyota battery. I tried an Evermax first but the +/- terminals weren’t in the correct position for the cables. I think it ended up being cheaper too.
