Has anyone recently had their ca registration changed from commercial to passenger. I tried that when I first got my 2016 ( got a snugtop) and set up a dmv appointment. They wouldn’t do it...

damn.... I am glad that I don't live in CA anymore. I just paid my TX registration and it was $79 for 1 year (but it also required an $18 state inspection).

We are living in a socialist state so we have to pay "our fair share". Last year my 2005 Accord was $138 and $579 for the 2016 Tundra. I guessed I'll be paying more this year. BOHICA!

Wow! I guess they are not making enough money from gas taxes due to more and more people are diving hybrid and electric cars now. Car registration is a fee not a tax so they can increase it more easily.

I'm waiting for the day when we have to pay per mile. Paying a usage fee on the road that were built with our money. If you and I were doing this it's called a scam but it's the government so it's completely legal.

Here in AR we have flat fees; small car $19.xx, any pickup $23.xx, mid-sized $27.xx, and big suv $32.xx (I put xx for the cents as it was $.75 but now its like $.82 or something weird). But we have personal property taxes. My boat, truck, and 98 Tahoe are $445 this year.
