    Good Morning,

Im in need of an rear air bag system for my 2017 Tundra CrewMaxx. I haul a car trailer back and forth to Pennsylvania several times a year. With the tongue weight, the rear of the truck drops significantly. I tried a weight distribution hitch but its still sagging in the rear.

Looking for recommendations on which air bag kit to go with. I would like it to have an on-board compressor and have the wireless control.

    What are you guys using?

    Thanks for the reply!

What do the cradles do? What is the benefit of the air tank over the compressor?

Stay away from Air Lift. Had nothing but bad luck with the wireless air and bag leak. They threw parts at me but I got tired of fixing poor design problems. Finally just disconnected the compressor and installed the manual tire inflation valves.

Have you tried re-positioning the car just slightly further towards the rear of the trailer? Or even backing onto the trailer to distribute the weight more over the axles of the trailer than towards the tongue.

yes, the problem is the trailer has a 4 ft dovetail, the rear wheels on the car are on the flat area right before the slope for the dovetail. The car is back as far as it can go without being on the slope of the dovetail.

The car is very balanced so doing so wouldnt help.

For those using the firestone kit, how is the wiring to get power to the compressor?

You run a couple wires in the cab to the gauge and switch panel. I do prefer the wireless kits cuts down on install time as well as drilling holes in customers new trucks

DAP Tune. 1.5" level on front. Revolver X2 Roll Back. Firestone 2445 air bags. TRD sway bar.
I run the Firestone Ride Rights with Daystar cradles and agree with all the above that it is a great set up. I keep 10 PSI in them when not loaded and it rides great. I just throw my little portable air compressor in the truck when I know I'm going to pick up a load. It seems I usually have it with me anyway, so there is no reason for me to add another to my truck just for air bags. Great upgrade for your $.

Just got a killer seal at Summit Racing on the Firestone 2810, I did not pay the advertised price on it. Apparently it comes with additional brackets which comes free but with a different part number. Now just need to get the cradles!

    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/FIP-2810

**Do the airbags get bolted to the cradles? Im asking because if you look at the video, you see the metal on bottom of the airbag when the truck is bouncing...

    Let me know your thoughts

Installed! I didnt realize it came with a plate to attach the compressor and ECU to.

Both bags are blown up and holding 70psi overnight

Nice looks good! My dc has bags with manual valve fill at the moment. I just ordered cradles to go with my new ome Dakar leafs:). Excited to see how they work in the vid clips. One day I’ll step my game up to a compressor. I’m used to playing with air as my summer beater is a bagged c10 with dual viair compressors.

The reason I went with the compressor is because when I get to my destination I disconnect the trailer and use the truck to drive around. The compressor makes it alot easier than playing with the schrader valves and having to find a place to fill.

Since I dont use it often, I am going to add a hidden switch so the ECU/compressor dont power up everytime I use the truck.

That makes sense. Use it when ya need to. Anybody hear you shouldn’t leave healer bags empty? Someone told me I should leave 5psi in it at least at all times...

Are these air bags just for towing purposes? Or can they be used as a adjustable rear lift? Looking to ditch my 4” blocks and wondering if these would work.

Yeah that was my other plan, to go all leafs. Not to thread jack, but Deaver seems to be superior to Atlas springs. Does that sound right? Thanks for the reply!

you should leave a few psi in them when 'empty'.
these things really work well. yours came out great.
one thing i didnt like about having airbags in my former, lighter truck, was they really made the ride hash when emptied. maybe on heavier truck like tundra this is less of an issue.

Need a little clarification here guys. I will be installing a Leer 100xr topper and Decked system in my truck so it will have a constant bed load of 500lbs approx. I had timbrens and an add a leaf on my previous Tacoma but think I would like to go the airbag route. Also tow a boat and travel trailer at times. If you don't have the cradles is the Firestone bag attached top and bottom allowing for the possibility of tear at full suspension articulation?

Thanks! I like the full suspension travel aspect. Any issues with the cradles trapping rocks or other debris causing a puncture?

I don't have any problems with mine. If you are into offroading with lots of articulation then these probably won't work.

Yup. Timbrens are nice and simple. I guess I will see how much bed sag I get with the cap and Decked system and go from there.

question for you guys....I tow a boat about 9500 pounds which is right at the limit for my tundra....

What are the benefits of using air bags in the rear? Just to prevent the sag? or is there better performance with it?
