Which thing? I guess you don't eat any meat from the grocery store either huh? Guarantee you those animals had it a lot worse than the ones in this thread.

If there were pictures of exotic game that the hunter had no intention of eating than I would agree that is sad and disgusting, but I’m pretty sure all the kills in this thread ended up on someones table for dinner.

What makes me sad is most kids and many adults seem to think that meat comes from the grocery store shelve. And Lord only knows what growth hormone and antibiotics they unknowingly consume. Yum yum??

Try some of my spicy venison breakfast sausage off my Traeger Smoker, it will put a grin on your chin like a mule in a briar patch ..it’ll make your tongue slap your forehead... why I hunt as often as I can.

Nope. I do not. I hope they do end up on a dinner table but in my experience, they end up being a decoration on the wall. I've never seen bear meat on a grill or coyote, or raccoon etc.

Bear meat is actually quite good. In some areas such as where I live in Florida the bear population has gotten out of control and there have been more and more instances of attacks on humans. In instances like this, what would you propose? The fish and wildlife commission issues a certain number of tags to help control the population. I believe this to be a necessary evil in situations like this. As far as coyotes, they are the single biggest detriment to a deer population. They are able to recognize when and where the female deer are laying their fawns and instantly kill the fawns because they aren't able to protect themselves. If you value the deer, then you want to get rid of as many coyotes as possible or your deer population will dwindle extremely fast. Again, I believe this to be a necessary evil. Now as far as the raccoons and the (beaver?) I am not sure why anyone would shoot them (or bother posting them). Respecting mother nature and being a hunter don't have to be mutually exclusive. In fact, not many things grind my gears more than unethical hunters and the ones who just want to go shooting rather than hunting. I put nearly 100 hours in the woods this season before I finally took a nice mature deer that will provide at least 1 meal per week for the entire year.

Nothing posted here, was meant to offend, or upset anyone. Seeing the name of the thread, it would lead you to the assumption of what you will be viewing. I am sorry it is not something you believe in, but it is the way I was raised.
No animal is ever taken for the sport, or thrill, of killing. Every ounce of meat is used, by myself, and the many families I provide for. This year, four different families in need got to see my Tundra coming down their driveways to provide them with the food they need. Not everyone in this world can go to a grocery store and buy what they need, or want.
The raccoons, coyotes and other animals that I harvest, though maybe not food to you, are pests to the farms I take them on and are also consumed. The other animal is a groundhog, not a beaver. They cause damage to both crops and animals at each one. I am asked, and even paid by some farms and companies, to harvest them.
I am proud of my hunting heritage, and even prouder of the service I can provide for those around me. All of the animals are taken in the most ethical, and humane ways available to me. I am not a blood thirsty killer, nor some cruel, torturous human being. I am licensed, legal, bonded and insured, to harvest all of the animals I take. As well as having permits for all the necessary animals and methods in which they are harvested. Many farmers would revert to poisons and traps were it not for hunters harvesting the animals.
I am not some dumb country boy, running loose on a killing spree. I am a highly educated, highly trained individual who likes to keep to myself, and take care of friends and family. I have spent my entire life, and career, serving my government and the people around me.
I would never force my lifestyle, or beliefs, on the people around me. We all choose to live the lives we lead and to each his own. I do not want anyone else’s forced on me. The thread said post your pics, so I did.
If it is knowledge you seek, ask and we can all have a civilized discussion on the subject. If it is not, please read the thread titles more carefully. We are not forcing anyone to read, or view the thread.
Again, I am sorry if you were offended by any of the hunting pictures, I have posted in the hunting thread. This is just one of the many hobbies I enjoy on the rare occasions I get to relax and enjoy my downtime.

I've harvested 4 bears, and every one ended up feeding my family. It is our absolute favorite wild game meat. We just had some awesome bear sausage for supper last night. I will not take a life simply for sport or a mount. Yes, many of the animals I kill do go on the wall, but all the meat goes into my freezer. I do not hunt or trap raccoons, but I have eaten the meat.
Wild game meat has no growth hormones, no antibiotics, no steroids, etc.
I wish people would be a little more educated and not assume so much!

Agree with everything stated above - I'm an avid bow hunter have killed quite a few bears, bear meat is fantastic as stated above. In fact bears taken in the fall (as opposed to spring) are even tastier IMO. Also for you bear hunters, if you are not already doing so, take the bear fat and render it (think lard). You will thank me - the best baking-cooking type fat/oil you will ever use. The best chefs in the world use bear fat for pie crus, google it. Anyway, it drives me nuts when anti's start yapping and they literally have no clue what they are talking about.

Ive also eaten Lynx and Cougar (kinda white meat), very good as well. I have a wife and 2 boys, we have not purchased meat in a store in over 12 years other than the occasional chicken. I hunt elk, deer, bear, turkey and leaving in 2 weeks for my annual wild hog trip. All of that tasty diverse meat is processed by me and consumed by my family. HUNTING IS CONSERVATION, without it you would not have any parks, most of the animals would be decimated by disease, starvation etc.

I just got upset to be honest I have not met a considered hunter. I am down in South Texas and people go shooting after work on a Wednesday here. I am not down with killing I am down with chilling is all I am saying. Anyway it makes me feel better to see that there is an actual purpose/use behind these killings.

Yes you are right. I was wrong and I am sorry. Carry on.

@Carbon what do you do with the coyote? Never heard of eating them, not that I care about them at all. They are a huge menace here in CT and just up the road from me a pack attacked someone's dog while hiking with its owner. The town would NOT allow someone to go up and hunt them which is too bad IMO. I'm not a hunter but certainly enjoy seeing these photos and applaud you all for your preservation. Here in CT they should have an open hunt for deer before they end up killing them selves off from over population.
