Are you running the 35w or 55w set up? I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of spyders, are those the black version or black smoke? Thanks!

Not the best angle, but here they are in the black with smoke lense, the smoke on the lense is very light. Running 35w 5500k HIDs.

Installed a set of spyders on my Tundra today. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread I the install was easy. Also installed a set of Toyotec 35w HIDs. I marked the cut offs of the original lights with tape and adjusted as needed. 46ecce28e797566d2c112f1a5e0d0adc_ffd5b305d6f1da03e83e976f4517a0fcb6e23814.jpg9c9ecda89f0f05900a8ce28873522019_02d39cafc825a35be9d5e3a088ebd1de4ee44605.jpg

I've tried both HID and LED on my spyders and I just couldn't stand the output on the LEDs. It's just not enough for the projector housings. Or at least the LEDs I tried didn't have the output.

Morimoto is what I have now. 35w and they are briiiiiiiigggghhhhhtttt. Zero complaints. Did have a slight polarity issue. But I ended up cutting and soldering the ballasts to the conversion wires and since then it's been one click on everytime.

Would this same setup with the toyotec 35w hid and spyders work on a 2008 tundra? I see mainly newer model tundras with this set up.

Anyone know how to change the bulbs to these Spyder headlights? Just had my driver side go out. Noticed both low and high beams are out. I try to remove the white piece that is coming out the back and it only comes out a little ways. Thanks in advance

What white piece? The one with 3 ears and a bolt head in the middle? If so, that is the retainer for the headlight adjuster bolt, leave it alone. The bulbs are under the big rubber cap with the wires going into it. See pic below.

Ah, thanks. So let me guess. This means I will have to remove the grill and headlight to get to it?

What LEDs did you end up getting for heads and fogs? Also what light bars are you using in tour grille? Love the look of your lighting setup.

Sounds like HIDs are the way to go. Couple of questions...
How do you go about using the existing leveling motors?
For a 2017 (1794), do you have to do anything for the LED bar to run like the DRL?

Anyone have picks of them with the chrome platinum or 1794? Really love the look of these!

For the motors, just take them out of the stock lights and put them in the Spyders. It’s pretty easy. There’s a thread here somewhere showing it.

You can adjust manually, or get the motor to it so u can adjust inside cab for upper / lower headlight alignment.

You still need to adjust accordingly for proper aiming

I bought one of these new version headlights for my sequoia and i was not impressed. After installation, the cutoff line was not leveled. It (cutoff lines) droop in the middle of both headlights. No way to correct it. There were excessive sealant that oozed on the edge, which caused the headlight to "stick" to the fender. Kind of like string cheese when you pull the light off the car. There were clear tape covering the excess selant around the headlight. No amount of adjustment could make the cutoff to level out. Came to the conclusion that the projectors themselves were mounted misaligned from factory. Only way to correct the cutoff would to disassemble the headlight and turn the projectors. End up returning it and had the oem headlights retrofitted.

I really did like the style of it. Looks good. With HID bulbs in it, it had really good output. Their halogen h1 bulb were terrible. Worse then oem headlights.
I tried to get quotes for retrofit service on the spyder headlights and it wasnt worth it. I really tried to like them, but can not stand the crooked cutoff..
