No, I always run power to the rear of the bed. Worked off independent switch. That light was more about cleaning up a worksite than backing up.

Haha sometimes. This time its not cuz me. When i tried to fill up, the pump shut off at $85. I wanted to fill it from empty to see how much it woukd be. This 5.7 gets better mpg than my 4.7

Thanks. I love crew maxs too. I would’ve gotten a crew max if toyota would’ve did a long bed version.

I have heard this from a few people. My Uncle has a 1st gen with the 4.7L and he says he only gets 11 mpg at best.

Yeah. The mpg sucked but I also have a camper and run bigger tires. That and hauling ladders and tools didnt help either.

I'm getting to know my new '18 loooooooooooong bed. Tows like a champ, but I need about 50' of space to unload!

Basic SR version...same seats as OP's TRD. Upgrades coming include wheels, tires, led fog lights, light and wiper stalks, tow mirrors, oh-shit bar and TRD sway bar. Prob a small lift / level too.

OEM wheels don't look so bad when they match a GT4.

    Using that space....

    Hey. Thanks!

It's a rush... my first real track car. Just doing HPDE type stuff, not racing but it's a blast anyway. The Tundra pulls it around with ease along with all the gear that goes with it.

What I'm really looking for is a set of sliders / rails / steps that run the whole length between the wheels. Prob a 10' run. Been contacting several vendors but not really found it yet. Maybe... http://sdhqoffroad.com/shop-sdhq-vehicle/ or Demelo... or http://www.cbioffroadfab.com/ ?

Fox coilovers set at 2” lift in front, 1” block in rear. 305/65/R18 Pro Comp Extreme AT, on these wheels.

    Great thread!

I've been checking around for a 2016 long bed 4x4 but they're very difficult to find. I think if I decide on a long bed the only option might be new.

I think if Toyota did even a 6-6.6” bed on a CM it’d drive a lot of DC owners to dealerships for one.

@GeoJoe Very nice track car. Parking is a problem lol. We have to double park or back into perimeter spots.

@jp_over Definitely hard to find. Try ordering one if you can go new. You can get all the options you want.

@zcarpenter92 Yes. Thats what I meant to say. I think that would fit the current long bed frame. I am looking forward to the redesign. I have plans on picking one up after this one is done.

This. 1000%. There is so much more interior room on a CM, but the mini bed is dead to me.

I'm buying an old Dodge 2500 because for the life of me I cannot find a long bed 2016+ Tundra. I've seen two and missed them at dealerships. Only one was an SR5 model with the oversized tank, which I need. How many did they produce? Half a dozen?

When I ask about long beds dealers laugh and ask why I'd want such an 'ugly' vehicle.

The trucks nowadays are not really trucks at all. They're SUVs without a roof on back.

The lack of available late-model long beds, from any manufacturer, has radically increased the cost of the old Dodges and F250s. They are way up in value the last few years.
I'd like to know why the 'bathtub beds' have caught on so strongly. I think it's partly because they look like a military Hummer.

I had to order my truck thru a dealership guy. He got me every option I wanted on the Tundra. I tried to order one thru Toyota.com site but was not allowed to pick the same options. There are still some around. Talk to the Internet Sales Manager at a dealership to and see what they say. Duff Joy from Toyota Carlsbad is who I ordered mine with.

31E3C8D0-ABFF-4ABB-A120-E536B2FC8DE5.jpg This was the ‘14 Long Bed I traded in for an ‘18 CM in June. There are times I do miss her and times I don’t. It was a decision I struggled with for a year or more. We have a family of six so the legroom won out once I had two kids taller than my wife.

I lucked out and a nearby dealership had 2 sitting on the lot when I was shopping around. Those were the only ones in a 100 mile radius though.

My 1st Gen 2001 RCLB has now become my dedicated work truck since getting the new 2018 Tundra last Oct.
Great hauling 4x8 ply/lumber and was perfect for stretching out my 6'4" body while camping.
low miles (90k) after all these years and still purrs like a kitten.

Not a 3rd gen but looks like a good truck. Usually no rust problems in SoCal....

Same color as yours though! :)

You should lift a long bed and then put on your own TRD swag... at least the stuff that matters.

....and then actually take it off road.
