    Everything. Literally.
Did my truck a couple months ago. I usually wash it on post, with the fucking fire-hose powerful hoses that we use to wash our hmv’s and Bradley’s etc.
plasti Dip has held up fine, so unless you’re driving through a hurricane, you shouldn’t have any issues with peeling or chipping.

You can get plastidip from auto zone and walmart and I'm sure any other auto parts store. Im in DFW and haven't had any issues with mine but it's only been in a month or so. I've heard guys say that it's lasted them 5+ years and if it doesn't it peels of pretty easy and you can redo it

Got the front bumper ends done today. A few little snags around the fog lights, but other than that, all good. Also did an experiment on some of the silver interior trim....Next project is to do more on the inside!!20171018_180500.jpg 20171018_180512.jpg 20171018_161030.jpg

@lionix - I used the gear shift and the bezel around the shifter as my test. I wanted to see how the plasti would work on the interior before I went too crazy. Now the gloves are off .... gonna be a lot of red in there!:benchpress:

Had good weather this weekend so I did some more - rear bumper, chrome around the vents, and painted the bezel around the radio black. Then I had some time so I went ahead an installed an LED light bar in my hood bulge! Tried the rim around the cup holders and the plasti dip bubbled - my mistake....I'll be fixing that next. Having fun with the plastidip!!!20171023_175817.jpg

@4x4_Angel I took the vents out. The left and right vents were easy. The middle vents (and bezel around the radio) were a pain in the a$$. I basically had to take 3/4 of the dash apart to get to it. Then it took me a while to remember the steps to put it all back together. It's a big jig saw puzzle. Someone documented the steps somewhere and I read that first, which helped. I'll see if I can find the post somewhere...

I really want to do this to my grill surround and bumpers. I notice some guys have left the bumpers and grill surround on the vehicle and just taped everything off extensively, and sprayed everything while still attached to the vehicle and they look great.

Other folks have pulled the bumpers and grills off and sprayed them independently. I know that is the best way to do it (at least when you actually paint things).

However, I really don't want to mess with the sensors and lights, seems like just taking extra time to mask everything off and leaving the items on the vehicle would work fine and save quite a bit of time and hassle.

Can I get a great looking bumper and grill surround by leaving on vehicle?

Pull the grill and hood bulge. Leave the bumpercaps in place. Remove the painted piece between the headlights and bumper caps. Remove fogs. Shove some paper in there and under headlights tape of middle bumper. 6 Or 7 heavy coats. Watch YouTube for smooth texture finish application method. Not perfect but pretty good. 6 months old. Use glossifier if you want it shinier.

Yes, thats one of the advantages to the plastidip......you paint over the top and if you dont like it, peel it off. Thats what I did to my sons bike

Bumping this old thread to ask for tips on dipping my wheels. I assume I want to protect the tires from being sprayed? Anything else I should know ahead of time?

    thanks
