Got everything installed. A few tips for anyone that's interested.

    1. If you aren't seriously mechanically inclined, skilled at installing nuts on studs you can't see or touch then pay someone to do this for you. I work on multi million dollar fighter aircraft and am used to working in tight spaces but this is beyond that...

    2. Tools I used the most: 12mm deep well socket, 12mm shallow socket, 12mm medium well socket, extensions, universals, 12mm gear wrench, 12mm box end wrenches (small and regular size), 10mm deep well socket, 14mm deep well socket, magnet.

    3. Do the passenger side first it's a pain in the ass because it's a very tight fit sliding the header into place. I hammered my cab so the Air tube would clear. Then once in place the Air tube would again get hung up on the air tube mount studs.

    4. Drivers side was easier as the header slips right into place, but the top middle nut is a pain in the ass.

    5. I had to cut my drivers side mid pipe out of the truck. I tried for two hours to remove it to the front, to the back. My truck's not lifted and on stock tires so if you had more ground clearance you might be able to get it out.

    6. Use a lift if you can, it will save your back.

    7. The O2 sensors were also a pain. 3 of the 4 aren't long enough to reach the ports so you have to unlug them, unclip the plug from the little backet, install them into the ports, reconnect, and zip the the wire back up.

    8. Make sure you have a big Allen wrench for the plugs that go in the headers.

    9. Don't forget to unbolt the dip stick and make sure to pull this out of the way while you are trying to get the passenger side header lined up.

    10. When you install the bolt for the dipstick be sure to recheck the other end that goes into the motor to ensure it didn't pop out. When I installed the header it bent the dipstick tube a bit so I couldn't have it popped into the engine and bolted up top at the same time and thus caused an oil leak when I would go around a left hand turn and all the oil slouched to the right side. Wouldn't leak just running in the drive way or even driving , only leaked when turning. Had to bed it back, pop it in the motor, bolt it up, and then recheck to see it didn't pop out.

This pic is of the passenger side mid pipe to manifold connect. You will need to us 14mm deep well for these. They were super tight, I had to use a big box end wrench on the end of the ratchet handle for extra leverage.IMG_6481.jpg

For the time being I am installing some loaner straight pipes that Keith @dirtydeeds made me. I'll be sending him my cats so he can make some custom mid pipes with them. So I'll be rolling with a CEL for a minute.

Good deal! That is what I want to do as well when I can eventually afford the headers and mid pipes. Cannot have the truck down for more than a weekend.

:popcorn:These JBA long tube headers and other similar articles are making me want to spend some money this summer. Along with the 8” Bam exhaust. What are the loaner straight pipes like?

The straight pipes are just straight pipes nothing special. Just temporary until the others get done. I have the 8" system and love it!

Get a buddy to help you. It's a lot easier if someone feeds the tubes from the bottom and holds it while you bolt it up. Especially on the passenger side, that's a tight fit!

That’s when you run 3” dual exhaust after the headers.

We can make em all any diameter. But I size the diameter of the system according to what works best for the end users goals.

In the case of a Trd rep, it can be made 3” but then you can’t use Trd tailpipes. They’re 2.5”. Now if you wanted a Trd rep dumped in 3” we can do that.

    Know what I mean?

Since the headers come farther back then the stock manifold you have to also get new mid pipes. I'll be having Keith at dirtydeeds build me some custom mid pipes and weld all 4 of my cats into them. For now, I just have catless midpipes.

@Sting Ray are you supercharged ot NA? I've considered headers to get a few more ponies but wondered if it would pay dividends on a non SC'd motor?
