Still waiting on my headlight revolution Gen 2 headlights. But got my led cargo lights. Also got 7" led lightning strips from the black Friday special. Not sure where I'm going to mount them. I'm glad you are happy with the head lights. I was starting to doubt going with LED instead of HID.

I thought i was set on the leds for ease of install but now i think i am swayed the other way with the HID's.

Don't do it Brian. Been down the hid road on my sxs. Led is the only way to go for reliability and easy installation.

Im in the same boat as you, except in PA we have a good amount of fog so I am a bit more for function.

#7 is my pick and my plan, with amber covers to kind of match our amber DRL or yellow, either should be great in fog. I don't want to spend that much money of fogs, haha. Maybe next year around black friday, gives me time to save...

But I don't have Line-X yet, or a TRD exhaust, or egh.... The list goes on...

This is the way I justify it. I want a lightbar, however I won't really use it. For me it would just look cool creeping behind the grill, and I would turn it on occasionally to impress myself. I don't off road, not taking backroads at night that I would be able to see oncoming far away enough to trust myself turning it off (lots of curves in the roads here).

If I go with quality fogs (paired with the retrofit I just did), I should have great light output that I can use all the time.

No need for the lightbar if that's the case (for me, others have different uses for it), those pennies in the piggybank went into the retrofit and will go into the Rigid fogs...

If there is a place I could use extra light, its in the back. Another future project...

Understanding that a driving light is not the same thing as a fog light, each of your cited options are for driving lights. Of those, I think the rigid mounts with some nice spot beams would be just the ticket.

I have yet to be impressed with LED bulb replacements, and I've tried a bunch of them. They are all nice and white but don't seem to have the punch of good halogens or HIDs.

Stock lowbeam and fog vs LED lowbeam and fog lights. LED are headlight revolution Gen 2 and kensung led fog. Headlights not much difference between high and low beam but the fogs make a big difference in lighting up the ditches and add quite a bit of distance. 20151226_230444.jpg 20151230_175502.jpg

Yes, i used the H11 bulbs for the fogs. With using the kensung fog bulbs I had to notch out the plastic piece in the wiring plug in because it's reversed polarity. Connection was loose so I just shrink wrapped the connection. Also the headlight revlotion has the 8000k sleeves along with the fogs.

i wasn't too worried about using my fogs under normal driving conditions but wanted more light for when i'm out of civilization and it's pitch black. a set of d2's using the stock switch and fog location made for a good solution.

So much want!!! Do you think the light output from the SAE fogs is still really good? I like the idea if them because then I can use them in civilization as well. That setup looks great!

i would bet they are about a billion times better than the fogs they'd be replacing. after installing these and having them in for a couple days i can sure see why guys have so many lights on their rigs... there is something very satisfying about seeing your badass rig make daylight out of night lol.

sounds good man. i'll try to get a shot in for you for tomorrow night and as for the lights, they are simply rigid industries D2 leds in the "driving" pattern along with rigid dually fog light kit brackets.

Since you are using the stock switch, how did you wire them? Did you wire the directly to the battery and use a relay or just wire your existing fog wires directly to your new D2's?

I basically just bought option #5 but they are dedicated fog lights with out the color rings. They are the 2200lm and they are awesome. They look just like the option 5 lamps but with out the extras. Bought them for $49.99 on ebay.

i used the switch AND wiring as there was no reason to add one considering i directly replaced the stock fogs. it was pretty simple, cut the rigid wiring harness as you need the ends and splice them into the existing wiring. in my case white was the positive.

Nice, sounds easy enough! I think with the bigger lightbar they recommend going directly from the battery, but they use way more juice in comparison to the dually's.
    Thanks for the reply!
