i have a 2018 1794... question about which dash buttons are lit up at night... the buttons that control my mirrors are not. This seems odd to me... is that standard?

Yes, that's how they all are I believe. I've seen the complaint before.

Yeah it’s kind a lame. That’s just the way it is. You’ll learn by braille. Look at the bright side at least you know that light will never quit working because it is nonexistent. One less thing to break.

Lol. I wonder what they saved on a 50k truck to not illuminate that!

It all adds up I’m sure. There’s a lot of things that these new trucks don’t have the old ones used to have. And I don’t know if it has anything to do with it but I paid 37K for my SR5 TRD 4 x 4. A lot of the same interior parts are used in all levels of trim in the tundra. No matter how many features they add to our interior of the vehicle there were always be people that want more. It all adds up.

I had a fully loaded trailblazer SS. All the buttons were illuminated. Over time the black coating started to come off of the buttons that were illuminated. Since it has to be transparent they must paint the rest of it that isn’t lit up. It really bothered me to the point where I became very delicate when using any of those buttons.

Not being able to find your mirror adjustors in the dark while backing is dangerous. I have an Envoy with the same wear issues as you Trailblazer. Not sure why they can come up with a simple sealant to protect the buttons.

I guess the consensus would be you’re supposed to have your mirrors adjusted before you take off. Not that I haven’t tried to adjust my mirrors while driving to fine-tune them.

My Sierra had backlit buttons, had it for 8 years and none of it rubbed off.

2018 1794 as well here and same crap. I dont know why everything else is lit up EXCEPT for the mirror control buttons. I live in the city where people double park and sometimes I have to fold my mirrors in to pass by. Ummmm...this is the main reason why I was sure to get powered fold mirrors. Whats the sense of having power fold mirrors if you cant even see the button at night???..I had it in my Ram 1500 and the buttons..were lit!!...Also no power fold after you shut the truck off which sucks as well. Like when you get out and realize I better fold the mirrors in...have to put the key back in the ignition and turn....just to fold the mirrors in. My Ram?...just push the button and close the door. I love my Tundra more than my Ram but c’mon Toyota!!

2 Tacomas and now a Tundra. Mirror control on none have been backlit. Sucks but I am only driver and only time I ever have to adjust is if I move when cleaning. At least the 4wd switch is lit on the Tundra. Folks with Gen 2 have to mod theirs to have one that is lighted. Dash illumination does not seem to be a priority with Toyota. There are times when I need to turn on parking lights to see my gauges. The ability to read gauges with sunglasses on or in low light conditions ticks me off a whole lot more than the mirror switch. Still thinking about a mod to illuminate dash any time the key is on.
