I bought the extended warranty when I got my 2005 Tacoma. (I think it was $1,000 or so). The only time I used it was when the overhead outside temperature/direction device crapped out. Found out it was $300 to replace but my warranty covered it...except for the $100 deductible..so Toyota won on that deal. Since my 2014 Tundra was used, I was not offered an extended warranty.

I mentioned I have a contact that will beat that price by a long shot. Let me know if you want it. You are only getting three more years with the deal you got.

Btbaker thanks but I purchased it already.

I got the Platinum for 6 year 125,000

$1600 out the door. I looked all around my area. Highest price was $1875.

I plan on keeping her for 7 years since miles are a factor.

    Thanks for your input

Roger that. I know you can cancel if you choose. The same warranty through the dealer I went through is 1150. Just PM me if you want the info.

I have bought a couple extended warranties from Midwest Toyota...Jerry Johnson I think. The first Tundra I bought i did a lot of research. Got a quote from Midwest to keep in my pocket during negotiations. Dealer had gotten the truck all finalized, other than the add-ons beat down they give you. I showed the finance manager the email i got from the other dealership out of state (they are in KS I am in IA). Asked them to match it. He was pissed. He actually brought out the book where they show dealer cost on warranties and showed me midwest was quoting like 20 or 25 above cost(the dealer i was at was trying to charge another 600ish). Then he basically called me a liar... Did I mention he was pissed? I ended up buying that warranty through Midwest. I have also sent people down there that were Ford fans since they have that brand as well. I loved that Tundra and never had a problem with it, but there was peace of mind. On my current Tundra, I didn't buy the warranty since it hasn't payed out on the others I have bought.
