Anyone install this Alpine HU. I have started doing some research on switch controllers that work thru the HU. This Alpine will control a Alpine KAC-001 Accessory Controller. 8 different switch's or relays can be controlled from the touch screen. Would solve two problems, Stock HU and not having switches all over the place. Would rather a Kenwood or Pioneer HU but can't find anything on those brands having controllers.

I have the Kenwood and use the maestro controller ....works like a champ! 100x better than stock...the only thing I would have done different is I would have had front cam put in ....

Alpine is the only 1 that can do that at this time. You think other companies would jump on the band wagon for this. Maybe people like having switched all over the place. I'm with you on this. Simple and right there in 1 place.

I Saw a jeep once at a show had an alpine restyle headunit and the controller for lights and such. It was over $2k just for the headunit.

What I priced out would be just under 900$ thru crutch field. Head unit and control box. ( $599 for HU, $199 for control box, and $84 for adapters to use steering wheel controls and a couple extra wire harnesses.) May give them a call later and talk with a tech to make sure it will do everything I want.

I'll be checking back to see what you find out and, if you do it, what you run from the Alpine HU. Please keep us posted!

Well, this looks like it will work. Gonna stop by a install shop and talk to a SME to ensure what I'm thinking and being told is correct. May also price labor to install to save me the headache of it. Will post findings later.

Going to see if I need any adapters to fit in the location. I have sourced all the harness's needed, but sure I will need some mounts. Not really sure how much factory settings thru the radio I will loose. I figure the USB port but not sure what else.

2/02/2018 3:32:24 p.m. Ziggy Happy Friday Paul. Welcome to Crutchfield Online Chat. I'm Ziggy how can I help you today?
2/02/2018 3:36:26 p.m. paul Wondering if a Alpine ILX-207 and a Alpine KAC-001truck accessory controller would 1. Work together? 2. Fit in a 2017 Toyata Tundra Double Cab with Center Speaker? 3. Be able to retain all my steering wheel controls? 4. Control up to 8 different 12V switches ( either switches or relays) for lights and such? What I have read is that it will work, just want to ask the experts if there is any known problems or issues before I buy.
    2/02/2018 3:37:46 p.m. Ziggy Awesome Truck Paul
2/02/2018 3:38:27 p.m. Ziggy Let me double check this for you but i believe you are good on all acounts
    2/02/2018 3:38:30 p.m. Ziggy accounts
2/02/2018 3:41:10 p.m. paul Thanx, I have updated everything except for the Head unit. Replaced the factory Amp ( pioneer 5 channel, 2K watts, Digital), door speakers, added 2, 10 Subs. Was going to wait for the Headunit but once I heard that with this controller, I can control switches or relays from the touch screen. I gotta do it. That way I don't have all kinds of switches stuck in the cab, and a much better Headunit.
2/02/2018 3:47:12 p.m. Ziggy fair enough I am just making sure you can do 8 different 12V switches
2/02/2018 3:50:00 p.m. Ziggy You got it man ...You can do it(Rob Schneider voice)
    2/02/2018 3:50:10 p.m. Ziggy haha

2/02/2018 3:51:15 p.m. Ziggy Looking at your cart It looks good to go brother
2/02/2018 3:52:00 p.m. Ziggy You might need some connectors like the Posi Connectors
    2/02/2018 3:52:14 p.m. Ziggy http://www.crutchfield.com/p_669PP500/item.html
2/02/2018 3:52:22 p.m. Ziggy other than that you will be good

Cool, good luck! Be watching to see how it goes.

I just did a android headunit in mine. I used the metra wiring harness and a harness from autoharness.com for the back up camera. Everthing works great! Soo much louder than the stock unit. Be nice if I could get adapters to work with the android.
