All I know is if you move to SA area then your going to be coming to the next SATC meet up. Texas has a very strong economy.

I know a few folks that live up in New Bruenfels, (spelling). They really seem to like it, it's about an hour or commute with traffic. I have visited San Antonio a few times and enjoyed it, traffic SUCKS, though.

Can't comment on San Antonio but for Irving there are a ton of options based on where you will be working, what kind of commute you want, budget for housing, schools for kids etc.

We lived in San Antonio for 5 years. We really liked it and probably would go back if a job opportunity presented itself. Traffic can be a rough. Where you live probably depends on what you want your commute to be.

It really depends on how far you are willing to drive and how much you're willing to pay for a house.

I love being in D/FW, if you get to go to Irving you can search any direction for housing and be happy. Like others said it all depends on options. Either way good luck with the move and let us know the outcome.

Depends on your budget, where your office is, and how far/long you are willing to drive. I live on the NE side of San Antonio (1604 &35 area) and work 18 miles away. It takes 25-30 minutes and 95% of it is highway driving. The NW side is booming with new houses, but road and highway consruction in that area is bad. I got to downtown today in 30 minutes and it was 20 miles, but i leave before 6:30 to avoid the major traffic

How bad is the construction around 1604/281 these days? Seems like they were always tearing that area up.

they just started to build the other 2 fly overs to the north side of 1604 for connecting between 281/1604. I think the estimated completion is in 2020. concrete barriers have been installed on 1604 in this area, but there really has not been any accidents during rush hour in this area. 1604 E backs up between 281 and Bulverde in the afternoons, but only takes 5 minutes to get thru most days

A lot depends on whether you have a family, children in school, whether you prefer to rent or own, and a few other things. A little demographic information will help with the recommendations.

DAP Tune. 1.5" level on front. Revolver X2 Roll Back. Firestone 2445 air bags. TRD sway bar.
If you come to Irving be sure and get your Tundra tuned by DAP in Fort Worth. He also does some tours where he will tune groups in different cities, but he lives in D/FW. Best performance upgrade for the $ in my opinion.

Lots of great places around San Antonio. (Pronounced Santone by the way) San Marcos, New Braunfels, etc. The area between SA and Austin is beautiful.

Dallas area has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It’s pretty much just southern Oklahoma for all intents and purposes.

If you come to the San Antonio area there are lots of homes within your budget. I prefer the hill country area north of San Antonio.

Lived in Kyle, Texas for 11 years (between Buda & San Marcos). I couldn't wait to get off of 35. San Marcos is cool but with the University there, it's grown too much and you still have the I-35 parking lot issue.

Make sure you check the cost of water and do some research on the towns water supply. We were paying a minimum of $130 a month for water in Kyle and that was without watering the lawn. Plus, you couldn't even drink it. Buda was participating in a water grab a few years back (SaveOurWells.com). Anyways, everybody was going West so we decided to go east.

If I were going to live near San Antonio, I'd look at Boerne and Bandera. Boerne is Hill Country and beautiful - same with Bandera.

    Good luck.

For Irving you could go north or south. North look in Grapevine, Colleyville, Sothlake. Good schools and close to airport. Housing will be more limited in your price range. If you are a boater or fish north is better. Hunter then south and housing is more affordable. South side closer to hill country and hunting. Not a fan of Arlington but it is close to all pro stadiums. When I travelled a lot I lived NW of Grapevine. 15 minutes to airport was real plus. Getting kind of congested out there now. Lots of Toyota dealers in DFW so when you ready to buy a new one you can get a good price.

From central Texas I’m 30 mins from Austin and about 40 mins from SA. Would say if you live near here pick a spot in between can’t go wrong.

Lived in DFW area last year for work and it’s nice cause you always got something going on and everything is about 20-30 mins away from you.

IMO I would pick central Texas, hill country to west and always something to do as well.

    S/O Team MGM!!!
